Name Question for ya

O.k. Sooooo....
If the U.S. servers and Japanese servers are shared and players can jump from server to server.... does that effect the naming of ones character?
Say if I made a character named "Fiend" on Japanese server Ragnarok, can a U.S. player make a character named "Fiend" on a U.S. server?
Or is there one big arse server that houses every single character data so no duplicate names can be made?

There are no separate Japanese and US Servers. When the game is released next month, Square Enix will launch new servers to hold the incoming players, but you are free to join any server you'd like (well, not really sicne the servers are random, but you know what i mean). Someone playing in Japan can always be playing on the same server as someone playing in America.

And to answer your question, you can name your character something that's already been used, so long as it's not on the same server as that person.
