I'm bored so I'm making a topic... What do you think, out of the following jobs, are the best combonations?

Monk
Thief
Dark Knight
Samurai
Dragoon

Please don't add in any jobs, I know WAR is the best melee sub job most of the time, that's not the point of this. Looking forward to seeign some peoples opinions!

I think Monk as main and Thf as sub would be a nice combo... Monks are damage dealers while you can make a lot of gil with the Thf's abililties... and no to mention at high levels, monk can sometimes attack 3's with kick and can heal themselves with chakra... and the best part is that they are both basic jobs... so you don't even need to do those expansion quests....

Yeah, I plan on being a Thief/ Monk then a Dark Knight/ Thief when I get that high. I like the other jobs listed to though and want to play them some. Anyone else?

I think outta those five a SAM/THF would be best combo.(and probly do more dmg then DRK/THF. SAMS have about the same ATK. Anyway, you could get TP up fast with SAM and then use NIN WS to do major dmg. Not too mention good money with THF ablilites(which i dont think you could use unless u make THF ur main) but still...

*EDIT* Thats...get up TP with SAM and use THF WS....not NIN...;)

Drg/Sam works good, but only when they are really high levels. As for the Drk, personally i think id wont work very good without warrior

At lvl 60+ THF/SAM would be viable since you get Silent Concentration or whatever the ability that regens your TP every minute is called.

Correction, 3 minutes. And it only gives 60% as a sub, in small intervals, so you still have to wait for it. Also, your backstab damage takes such a huge cut, it's soooo not worth it.

But you could get in at least 2-3 Viper Bites with SC. Use SC=60% TP then attack 4 times and get 100 use VP then keep attacking and going like that you most likely get 2 or maybe 3 VB's in one fight.

Or you could do the same damage with one. Also, 8 hits not 4, and after 60 it's dancing edge not viper bite. You'll shit your pants and cry in joy and happiness when you learn dancing edge :p

Ya...I keep forgetting about that higher up stuff  . Anywho, each hit from Thief get's 6 TP I believe (Been a week since I played) so your right 7-8 hits and *correction you can use 2-3 dancing edges in one battle lol.

EDIT: Dont want to post twice since Maxim just posted.

Two to three Viper Bites per fight in a normal level up PT doesn't seem realistic unless the battles take forever. Even if you have 100% TP you'll still have to wait a minute for Sneak and Trick Attack to become usable, and by then it'll be a better idea to just save the TP for the next battle instead.

Actually in Crawlers Nest many times, I have had to use Sneak + Decieve at least twice if not three times if something went wrong. But I still dont see why gaining TP wouldn't be a good idea for a THF (Sam as sub) you could do it solo once then do SC...->then ready for renkei. I think i'm right...to late to tell lol.
