Haha, I've been wondering for like, 3 days whether I should go with free mousepad (EB) or free overnight shipping (Gamestop). Then I check the site today and there it is, free one-day air. Free mousepad AND shipping, you can't beat that.

If I pre-order, will it arrive at my house on the 28th? Or will it ship from their wharehouse and be at my house on the 29th? I could just run to the store and pick it up on the 28th. (about an hour drive, though)

I'm going to pre-order it from the eb store that is close to my house. That way it WILL definitely be in my hand...unless I wreck of course. :(

one-day shipping doesn't mean it'll arrive at your house in one day, it means it'll ship from the warehouse in one day. with things like that, it should be another 2-3 days to arrive at your house.

i'm just gonna preorder in-store instead of online...

Ah it doesn't matter! I'll pre-ordered it online cause it will be coming to my house I you never know if you wanna get it in a store and..... BAM the store is stolen or something bad happens to the store lol... ONLINE! forever! ^_^

It should be 1 day air, meaning you get it the next day, if you're lucky. And you get the mousepad...I'm all pre-ordered. Now all I have to do is wait.

Ok here is the low down on pre ordering, this is the best way to look at it. You can pre order online and get the game sometime either on Oct 29 or 30. Or if you have a local gamestop, babbages etc, you can walk in anytime between now and Oct 28th and Pre Order the game that way. If you Order from the store the game is GARUNTEED in your hands by 9pm Oct 28th. I have done this with every FF game that has come out and always gotten my games earlier then everyone I know. Not sure if I will do this with FFXI or not since I am in the PS2 Beta and that probably wont end right away.

i shall not preorder mine..not too many FF fans where i am from ;\..so i am 100% positive it will not sell out before i get a copy......and to that guy who said ps2 beta wont end for some time....they will end at the same time...all of them because square is making cactuar a real server...

i don't know what shop i should pre-order from. there is ebgames, ebx, toys-r-us, and others. which is best for store pre-orders?

Whichever is cheapest.
And to look at one-day air on the bright side, you miss out on the horrible server crashes!

OMG this is not cool. I preordered a couple months ago at my local EBX (im first on the list ;P) and im not going to get a mousepad. I WANT A MOUSEPAD!!!!!!

editL btw cloud your ghame isnt garenteed if you preoorder at the store. Lets say you are number 31 on their list and they get 30 copies in. You get the first one in the next shipment which came come anytime in the next week.

On the EBGames website, you can cancel your preorder. So, just go into the store and tell them to cancel your preorder, then go re-preorder online... or ask them to give you a mousepad.

It all depends. Star Wars Galaxies for example, people who pre-ordered from some stores recieved the game the night before it hit the shelves, other games, the pre orders don't get shipped out until the day it's on the shelves and therefor you get it a day later. Yet other games ship so that you recieve the game at the same time it hits the shelves.

As for pre-ordering localy, I have never heard of a store allowing more pre-orders than they have shipments for. Most stores know how many they will recieve in the first shipment and allow pre-orders of exactly that many and stop allowing pre-orders after that. Sometimes they will have a waiting list but they will let you know that you won't recieve the game during the first shipment. If you are going with this route it's best to pre-order ASAP because the stores usually place their orders a long time in advance (up to a month) so if they only ordered 30 copies you better hope you are one of the first 30 people to pre-order it.

Also, if the store is advertising the game with posters and/or standups that is even more of a reason to pre-order as many people who are not following the game as closely as us will pre-order it then. If there are no advertisements there usually isn't as big of a worry about pre-orders selling out until the week or so before release.

with the ultima online age of shadows expansion pre orders and the copys that went to the store were shipped at the same time, so i got my copy at the same time as the people waiting in line at the store without the trouble of driving there and waiting, don't see how it would matter though its not like people are gona get that far ahead in a few hours or a day.

It could mean the difference of 10 levels.
