A couple questions on armor and weapons... ^_^

Ok. I know, at least, i hear there are rare finds in the game. Are there actual weapons/armor that are really unique to themselves, aside from the AF stuff? Like awesome looking rods/wands...swords, bows, daggers, etc.Are you able to equip capes/cloaks, and have them be visable while you walk around and such. All of the screen shots i see everyone looks alike. That's kinda blah. It's neat to walk around and see lots of different looking people. I just havn't seen or heard about rare/unique looking armor, or weapons. I know there's the AF, like i said, but once you get that...and the next person has it..you look the same. That's no fun :-P. If there isn't , HOPEFULLY there will be in the main version. Perhaps they'll add dyes to the game...so we can , at least , have a bit more customization.

So if anyone knows about neat looking loot/prizes from enemies and conquest...please let me know...thanks!! ^_^

Well I have seen people equiped with capes but they never appear which I think is pretty cheap!:sweat:

Capes that can't be seen is one of those minor but HIGHLY annoying things missing, that are so standard in MMORPGs, you wonder what the heck Square is doing. Theres still a serious lack of variety in character creation and loot right now. This is what square needs to improve NOW. It'll take months for US players to burn through the current content. Get us some variety, because theres too much incest in Vanadiel;) I don't like being the 20th brother in a family of 600. Those monsters are looking mighty similar too. lvl 1 bunnies should never look like lvl 20 bunnies. Lame is an understatement.

yes be similar to someone is pretty annoying and monsters are like the ones in Double dragon (NES) .They change the colour of their clothes to seem stronger or weaker LOL

Yowza!~~~ This isn't sounding good , at all :-P Hopefully all of you beta testers will write them E-mails about this matter. They probably have some sort of system for you to write suggestions, right? Send them a whole bunch!. WE need difference :-P

not displaying the capes is probably a matter of rendering. capes are rarely ever stagnant, so they would always be blowing or moving to some degree. its very hard to show this in a realistic sense, not to mention program.

Yeah, true. It could do a cape system like DAoC...the had really neat cloaks :-). Besides that, the game needs awesome , rare glowy rods..and swords with flames..yada...i hope, i hope, i hope, they add them. ::big grin::

Yeah that is a problem in this game. You don't see much variety in the armor that people wear. Mainly because theres only one or two types of armor that a person can wear at certain lvls. But also even the rare pieces of armor or conquest items don't look any different then regular lower lvl pieces(doublet and merc captain doublet for example). The cape thing kinda bothers me too.

True, but at the same time a cape would be easier than some of the magic effects they've done. Also, there is the fact that it won't increase bandwidth to add pretty capes since all the rendering and that junk would happen on everyones PS2 or CPU, not on the FF server.

I guess, for now, all we can hope for is that they'll add lots of new wepon and armor grafics. Seeing as the game is supposedly only at "20%"

THE ORGINAL Red mage has the hat and robe. So the robe aint ganan show up?
