From what I know, is that you can have a job and a sub which is not more than half of the main's level, right? Eg, 10war/5whm

Does that mean that if my whm was level 20, then I switch to war as main, the xp as whm will be lost and I'll have to train back up to 20 if I wanted to switch back to a whm? Or is it just a temporary cap?

Do the sub get any xp at all? I'm sorry if this information is provided somewhere else in the site but I can't seem to find it cause it's too messy.

You're right about how the sub is half of whatever your main is I.E. 24/12. How it works is this. Say you level WAR - any exp that is gained as WAR will remain no matter how many times you switch your job. Basically each job you level is entirely seperate from others and the amount of exp remains whatever it was as you change your job combinations. yeah if i miss a question post and i'll get back to it - i'm so tired right now i yeah . ..

From what I understand, you can only level your main job. However, when you swap your main-job and sub-job the main job doesn't "lose" levels. It just becomes half as effective.

So let's say you are level 10 warrior and level 10 white mage. If warrior is your main-job then your white mage would still be level 10. But it would only be as effective as a level 5 white mage (skills, abilities, stats, etc.). Now, let's say you go out and level up twice. You would now be level 12 warrior but still level 10 white mage. But your white mage would be as effective as a level 6 white mage (skills, abilities, stats, etc.). Once you got to level 25 as a warrior your white mage would only be as effective as a level 10 white mage.

As you level up your main job it's a good idea to level your secondary job up to at least have your main job which means you have to constantly switch back and foreth between jobs to keep them up with each other.
