FFXI only 20% of it's ultimate size

In the newest preview of FFXI at Gamers.com (http://www.gamers.com/game/1178263/previews) they said that Square predicts that the game is currently only 20 percent of its ultimate size. All I got to say is WOW. The game has been out a year in Japan but it looks like they still have a lot of plans for it. We're in for a LONG ride :).

lol. Rainbow mage. I want to be a Semi-Grey-Partly-Sunny Knight. I was hoping the game was only at 1% or so at the moment. They better have some kickass events going on in the game when it hits NA 'cause all of us waiting for retail have already missed out on a lot that happened when the game hit JP..like the first wedding and stuff.

The first wedding, even square came in. Members of the ffxi crew joined the wedding, added special conffetti, and gave both the couples a special wedding ring. In fact, there was a sign up in the japanese ffxi site if you want to get married in the game... Just watch out though, some of those mithras are guys...

I heard a while back the cap was 255 :)
I was thinking thats practically impossible having such a large lvl gap. They will have to release loads of expansions and like add new worlds and stuff.

hmm me lvl 453 ultimamage/redmage/dragoon/summoner/and so on.....

belive me it wil be 2154 when ffxi explodes and ffxi chars become bugged forever and sqaresoft will have ff XXXIX

before ffxi explodes and chars become bugged, there will be 8 worlds to adventure in and a 500 lvl gap

There will most likely be at least one new world in another expansion at some point... All MMORPG's add a new world. It's like a tradition.

Well, since FFXI is an MMO and monthly content should be added each month...and since it is Square. We should have a great game to play for a long time. I'm definitely looking forward to square's step into the MMO realm.

There is that garden of tu'lia (or whatever it's called), that sounds like a new world.

I don't know if I'd play that long (life and money has a way to stop you), 255 seems high enough. 20% though, whoa....

i don't think that they will increase the game world that much without repeating large sections of "land".

Mmm. We'll have Dragoon wyverns the size of Bahamut, Paladins attacking from armored chocobos, black mages burping out spells that can level San'doria, and beastmasters taming Serket to level up. Ah, I can't wait.

Got a problem with males playing as Mithras? I'll teach ya if you do. Anywho, there was suppose to be another wedding with Soniti and ....err aww damn forgot her name they were both in The Confederation.

It will probably be 255 as that's the maximum value a byte can hold and FFXI probably has character level data stored as a byte - they can't waste space making it something else, this is an MMORPG, you've got to save bandwidth where you can.

But if this is only 20% of the classes we'll be seeing some new ones... more than just the FFT/FF5/FF3 class list for sure :)

Personal airships.... Monsters that are only situated in the air... I'm liking it. New worlds don't even have to be created. Simply make better use of the area already given, just in a more three dimensional way.
