Ermm.. ~ You don't? If your internet connection is through a LAN such as cable modem or DSL, then you dont have to do anything different. As long as POL and FFXI can see your internet connection you should be fine. Now, if you are getting problems with a router, then... well, there are many different things that it could be. Use the search function on this forum as I know router problems have been discussed in the past, but I dont know how to fix those. ^_^ Ganbare~!!~
