How are you gonna play?

Question:
1)
Are you gonna play with a made up character, like they do at LARP? So you first create a past for your character(where you are born, something about your parents etc.) and then in the actual game you are gonna act like you are that character.
So if someone asks you where you are from, you don't tell him: "I am from Tokyo(or where ever)". Instead you tell him that you were born somewhere in Windhurst.

2)
Or are you gonna be you(the real you). So if someone asks what yer favorit food is, you don't answer: I like the berries from the walking tree. Instead you say that you like Chickennuggets from Maku Donarudo.

I'm probably going with both. When I am in character, I will of course do #1, but if I was OOC (Out of character), then I would go with number 2, of course. But mostly I will be #1.

When playing my character I don't change my personality at all so it's 100% the same as me in real life. I just can't get that into it, so even if I was say a tarutaru there is no way that I would role play being "cutsey-wutsey." However, in game if someone asks where I am from I would reply Windurst, so in that regard I do think in terms of the game.

Ah, the never ending discussion on role playing.

I myself personally enjoy RP'ing, but I find it kind of hard to enjoy my RP'ing experience when everyone else doesn't RP.

As has been suggested before, it would be nice if all RP'ers congregated onto a server or two. That way I think it would make everyones experience better, for those who RP so they don't get flamed and for the people who abhor RP'ing. (although I don't understand what these people get out of poking fun at the RP'ers O.o)

Yes, I also thought about putting the RP people on one server, that would be soo cool.
I will definitely try to RP most of the time. But I haven't really thought about what my character would be like, but I have lots of time, I live in Berlin, Germany :dead:

Personally, I can't stand roleplaying; I have a general dislike of anyone who is either not being themselves or is copying someone else.

I like to play myself, but I exadurate all my characteristics, and wrap them around the concepts of watever game I'm in. for instance, if dieing does not end a character, I tend to take more risks. I generally play my character to be loyal, dependable, a bit naieve, and an all around nice guy, but I keep a rough edge or two on him to keep things interesting.

Well I will be RPing but as stated by other people its kinda hard and not very fun if there is no one else RPing........ About getting on a server together that would be cool I know in other games like DAoC they had RP servers of course it still felt like I was the only one RPing but some other people did some of the time too, but mostly I felt like it was just me oh well whatever happens I will keep on RPing!!:thumbsup:
