what should i sub my thief 'till i get to level 30 for the ninja?

Monk would be good because they have a lot of DEX, however most of their abilties revolve around hitting with fist better, something a THF doesn't use. You'll also get Counter and some HP up.

Warrior would also be good because you will get Berserk (adds lot's of damage) plus you'll get some defense up. The best part is you can lv your Dagger with both jobs though, instead of just one. Honestly though, if your gonna lv one of them you should think which one would apply better to your Ninja as well. I personally think that a Ninja could definatly use the extra attack from NIN/WAR. That way when you don't need money and you just want to kill you could try WAR since THF is nerfed as a sub anyways.

Monk because you'll be using claws with your thief until level 33 or so (thats when you learn viper bite).

Which race? Hume? Mithra?

As Hume, you can sub RDM. They both got about the same amount of INT and the sort. Although as THF, I use dagger or 1hsword. =) I'd rather attack fast than have 2 attacks lumped together and wait a while. That, and THFs have a pretty bad rating for claws.

Dont sub Bard if you plan on using Thief for a long time. Thiefs are always required in Renkei's becuase of their high damage. If you were a THF/BRD you wouldn't get as much TP or as fast as you normally would and couldn't be ready for the Renkei. But hey it's your choice! ^_^.

NO! /BRD is the second worst sub in the game, only worse than /BST because you can only do one song at a time and you can't equip and instrument through and through taking all of the BRD usefulness.

Meaning you need to finish renkei, so you're gonna need claws until you learn viper bite with dagger:zzz:

EDIT: sorry i meant ill go with /mnk because like ya'll said i should use claws till 33 and i saw thieves arent all that great w/ claws so /mnk is just a little boost to it

btw if any one's still here what is the difference between claws and grapples?? is a grapple like a hookshot from the legend of zelda? thx again

Grapple is using fists. Monks just equip claws for extra damage, and both of them use the same weapon skills.

HERE'S THE BREAKDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-thf/war will get you more invites and get you to lvl 30 faster.
-use grapples until lvl 33 like Razz said... although you won't be going to lvl 33 like you said...
-as a hume thf/war in the past, my knowledge is beyond some of you... so you'd be silly to flame me.
