to all you people who are in the beta or japanese version:
how popular are the different jobs compared to each other? Are there WAY too many or not nearly enough of anything? Ive heard that there are too many DKs and DRGs and not enough PALs; is this true, and what about other jobs? just wondering what everyone out there thinks about the diversity of the jobs :)

I don't see the problem...People find something they like and they want to be it....Who would'nt want to be a Dark knight? People like to be naughty and evil..As for dragons....Well dragons just plain kickass.
I love the whole Dragoon package. The only thing i don't like is the spear...Its my second favorite weapon. I prefer a sword like most people.

I see so many SAM now; they're pretty much everywhere, at every location, at every level. :sweat: Not that I'm complaining, I love watching them Renkei.

WHM, BLM, BRD and SMN always seem to be a problem on my server. I've actually only partied a few times with a SMN, while WHM, BLM and BRD are always taken as soon as they log in usually.

All my parties have consisted of mainly SAM, THF, PLD or WAR, and support guys. Haven't had a party with DRG, BST, RNG (except Jei) or DRK in awhile.

I'd agree about the mage problem. In my LS, we have two whm and no blm. We do have a rdm or 2. Other than that, it's mnk and war all the way (we're only a lvl 20 LS at the highest, so no one yet has access to advanced classes). I can get together monk parties and war parties all day long, but a whm is worth it's weight in gold in a party and there only seem to be a handfull on the server.

well, this WAS a problem, but it changed over...about 3 weeks ago on the beta server there were more Summoners then Warriors in durst ~~; it was extremley sad...especially seeing some idiots level beyond 15 with the Summoner job. I asked a level 22 Summoner once why he was continuing to level it so high, his response "I heard at level 25 you get Ifirt"...im sorry...but i just had to flame him ~~; yah, but its not a problem anymore, i think everyone is sorta sick of seeing Carbuncle get owned by a Mighty Rarab around Mhaura

there are summoners in the beta because the actual job can be attained without the expansion, only they cant get any summons beside carbuncle(and a few elemental ones) without the expansion. There are no sam/drg/nin, you need expansion for those.

Yea, in beta, BLM is the rarest so far, at least on the Bastok/Sandoria continent. Paladins pretty rare too, but I've seen more of them then DRKs. It usually goes WAR - MNK - RDM/THF(depends really) - WHM - BLM for the basic classes

Keftenk- People aren't leveling summoner up so they can use it as a main for the most part. Ofcourse someone would want to level a summoner over 15. At level 25 summoner gets auto mp regen which many blm or whm will want subbed. Flaming someone in game because they thought they were getting Ifrit seems a little mean. :(

Well I mean it is the beta everyone starts in a weak level so they have to choose a basic job soooo WAR is a good job for alot of jobs if you give it some time warriors will soon fade out.
