What should I sub WAR with?

Im having a really difficalt time making this choice. Can someone list a few pros and cons about classes good for subbing a war.

Good support jobs for WAR:

-MNK

A little extra HP, and you can use the LVL10 Monk Counter ability once you hit LVL20 WAR.

-NIN

Not too sure about this, but I've seen a couple of JP players subbing this lately. The 2 weapon ability looks nice though.

-WHM

Purely if you want to solo. After LVL15 solo'ing can be kind of hard, so I wouldn't recommend it.

-THF

At WAR LVL30 you can use THF LVL15's Backstab attack, which amounts to a guaranteed critical hit every 1 minute, although not nearly as powerful as a main job THF's backstab. Use before a 2-handed weapon skill and you will do some nice damage. A WAR30/THF15 in my PT did backstab and 2H-Axe WS for 300 damage, while my character (THF30/MNK15) only managed 278 with backstab and Grapple WS.

I really didn't play WAR for too long because it was pretty boring and since I was TaruTaru, not very effective.

I dont what to say bud...I had someone in my PT do over 400+ damage with Backstab+Decieve+Weapon Skill+Grapples so I dont know what is up with your damage. Something isn't righ tthere with THF30/MNK15 Thief should easily out beat it as a sub.. If you have Backstab for Thief as a sub it doesn't do as much damage.

Actually I think I was THF29/MNK14, because I don't think I had Deceive at the time, so maybe that was the problem. :sweat:

It sounded like he was asking what jobs WAR would be a good sub for, not what would be a good sub for WAR... If that's the case, WAR is a good sub for pretty much any melee job.
