I am looking for some useful items which I can steal from the monsters, although I can't beat them but still can try to steal item from them and turn your back.

like the orc I can steal items for synthesis, then use De-Zone II or Teleport to run away. Since my level are lower. Isn't it brilliant idea?

stealing and dezone/teleport away is quite a bad idea. however the items you cna steal normally would be something like this.

most useful monsters to steal would be beastmen (gobs, quads, orcs, yagus), the stronger they are the better sign you can steal. from weak to strong and their price in my server are......
copper sign (150g) >> iron sign (450g) >> mithril (1,100g) >> gold sign (10,000g)
if you steal from a ranger type monster tho, you might get arrows/bolts instead.

Ideal stealing festival is in a skill up PT (or even a level up PT) you can steal tons of mithrils with level 50+ party and golds if you go with level 60+ normally.

birds - feather
crabs - rocksalt
worms - throwing stone.
tigers in Sauromagu - crab's meat (strange)
mushrooms - mushroom
fish - shell

I didnt know thieves can steal what lvl ability is it?? I would assume active ability?

steal is in the first 4 levels..cuz i am 28/5 and have steal..and the refresh rate is every 3 minutes u can use it again

=) You get steal at level 5. It's not Gil Steal. You get Gilfinder AND Steal.

If you're lucky, you get better rod from Goblin Fisher

Most of the time when I fight beastmen, I get beastcoins. Say, Quadavs, Gobs, and Orcs I'm only lvl15 though.

I got steal sometime ago it is helpful making money for my speals. I am targeting for Pick pocket lv35 can money from target.
But I don't know how useful it is or how much i can steal. Please sent me some information I am really looking forward to it.

Is it possibe to steal rare weapons/armor? All i see are just strange items.(besides arrows.) could you steal your enimies weapon?

I wonder if your party members will get upset because you keep on stealing stuff from the monsters. If you steal an item from a monster, I presume it was something the monster was going to drop, or does it drop anyways for the party even if you steal the item from it. How does this work with other members of the party or alliance for that matter??

Well thief is not my only job, since this is part of the game you must got to enjoy it. Some rare items is only for steal as you find hard for it to drop for making useful things. And its sneaky I don't really like it being my PT much either. I use it when I needed in solo for profit, since it will increase the drop rate money or items. And if my level are low to deal with the quests, battles and sub<thief> is another choice. Steal run and take a number buddy or kill it.

Some old player told me pick pocket is useless specially when steal the low level monsters 0 gil, it sucks.

Well being a thief sub job is better than main job is that true?

Pickpocket is not a worthless skill, even at low levels. I've had luck stealing from Mandragos around Windurst at level 7 and 8; they tend to have balls of cotton on them, which sell for about 600 a piece and i haven't seen one drop off them normally through just killing them.

Granted pickpocketing gets better as you level up, so it is tough at first. If you are looking to get items, just try stealing off of easy prey monsters, as the chances of you pickpocketing something is much greater.

Just stick with it, use it every time you can, and eventually you will start getting lucky :)
