Hey I am a PS2 beta tester, but will most likely get the PC retail(Mmmmm earlier release.) Anyhow, I was just wondering what the graphics comparison is like. Can anybody post screens of the Equip screen, fighting, or just hanging out in general. Also where do I get the PS2 controller hook up for my PC, I couldnt play without the controller.

why's it have to be a pc beta and ps2 beta comparison? The graphics should be the same as pc import and ps2 import comparison as long as the comp is the same.

Heads up Bishop:

PC Beta = Beta on a computer.
PS2 Beta = Beta on a PS2.

Therefore all graphics on the PS2 would be the same, but graphics on the PC would vary from computer to computer.

Well, with a GOOD video card then, like Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB. I wanna see how it compares with what Im playing with right now.

Good job, your now officially on the bandwagon.

I've got some GF4, and look at my graphics, they don't get any better then that.

Usually it looks better at closer views.

By all means, read it again. I'm confident in my answer.

Must I break up my sentence for you.
You said:

I said:

This one should be self explanitory.

I said:

import and ps2 import comparison

I'm saying, why does it have to be a BETA comparison and not IMPORT comparison. Since the game should react the same and wheather its beta, import, or hungarian, the game is still the same!

Is that clear enough?

Cool Im def getting it for comp, I want a Radeon9800 Pro 128MB for when Half Life 2 and Doom 3 come out *drools*. Half Life 2 team should just redo the graphics for FFXI.

I think some one hasn't been informed well enough.

HL2's graphics aren't any better then FFXI's and even if they were, would you really want those lagtastic graphics at every turn? FFXI was made to look good AND not lag, so stop complaining about graphics.

My graphics look good, and I barely get any lag, and I use a GF4, so stop always thinking a Radeon is going to beat out everything else cause your best internet buddy told ya so.

Anyways, I'm also waiting for HL2, but not so much Doom 3.

Half life 2 not as good as FFXI? I'm sorry but there's just no comparison. HL2's character models have upwards of 10 000 polys each, and the attention to detail in the backgrounds just blow FFXI away. Barely any video cards on the market will be able to handle that game, FFXI leaves room for lesser models.

That's natural because FFXI is primarily online, and framerate slow downs could be deadly, but considering how much effort has been put into the graphical side of HL2, I'd assume they've worked just as hard on optimization as they have modeling.

I guess Valve knows HL will never be as complicated, or need as many graphics as FFXI, so they can spend the time on modeling and game design.

I just hope all these CS2s and DOD2s will take advantage of the HL2 stuff and not just be the same thing. ;O

HL2 will have scalable graphics. If you're getting a terrible framerate, the engine will detect this and lower the quality until you can get between 40 and 60 FPS. If you're getting over that, it increases the quality (If possible).
