Ancient Magic & PT's

Simple question, is ancient magic used much in PT's / MB? I noticed that they are at approximately the same lvl as the III spells. And since they are much much cheaper, they're most likely infeiror. If anyone could explain to me how PT's work with ancient magic, id appreciate it

yea quite a lot for me. If the BLM knows what they're doing they normally will use ancient spell after they hit 3 chain 4 chain and above. early on in the chain it won't be so good to waiste MP that much imo :)

mb ancients sucks . I only do ancient mb when I lvl. unless u wanna die or get smacked like 5 times after its not a good idea. plus the mp eating factor makes me cry when i see blms use when i pt other job make me wanna let them die lose chains and wait longer for mp heal. on a 3 4 hit renkei its better to do a 2 spell combo than ancient in my opinion less hate and half the mp almost as much dmg. for example wind2-wind3 total at least 500-700 depending on your skill lvls or if bard does element down song. if you really want to do it make sure the monster dies or almost dies after it hits.

it was a PT w/ 2 drks, war, brd, and refresh rdm, and blm. MP was unlimited and the exp was amazing. We had already gained enough exp to be satisfied, so we started fooling around (this was the PT i turned 60 and got guillo in ^^), so we started MBing flood. He'd go, say "GO NOW!" then we go and catch the flood at the end :p surprisingly, the exp didn't slow down. it was fun ;) How the game was meant to be played :spin:

Ancient magic is a slightly weaker version of DRK/WAR's Darkness guillotine, and slightly less suicidal. Though that PT was fun, I must agree. Only at the end of the fight. Unless u wanna get slapped and/or end up dead.

Ancient MB wont generate that much hate, just pace your spells... or is that what elvaans like me do :sweat:

And besides, wise to have blink and stoneskin on first, people such as awn often talk about 'unlimited mp PTs', I been in them, normally when some PT gives up on a WHM and invites me :spin: get those buffs up first... you'll hardly generate hate anyway, unless the fighters are weak?

Extreme - Ancients aint inferior, best still to have elemental III and IV (i wish) magic, but these guys have stated how ancients work, plus there getting cheaper, im thinking of getting em all now myself

Awntawn - I have been in those getting silly PTs too, dam fun, without exp pace being sacrificed
