Bard's here... Bard's there...

I am currently a level 20RDM/10WHM and I am eagerly anticipating becoming a BRD in the Beta. But soon enough my hopes were killed as I saw that the parchment needed for the BRD quest is almost impossible to synthesize successfully in the beta.

But now as I am playing.. I have noticed... ALOT of BRD's...
I've seen atleast 8 different people with BRD as their job. either main or sub job. I think i've seen more BRD's then PLD's or DRK's. Which is quite strange if I might say so.

But what I am wondering is where everyone is getting these parchments! Is someone making them for them? Are they actually bought at the NPC shop? or Maybe the quest was altered in the beta so that you dont need any parchment. I'd be surprised if someone had a Synthesis Level past 15 in the Beta.. so someone making it seems a little farfetched to me.

Could someone answer my questions? I really want to be prepared to become BRD when I hit 30.

That's a good question. I've been seeing quite a few bards lately also. I thought that Bards were a pretty uncommon job?

? why don't you try ask the bards in game how they get their parchment then?

I asked 2 of them that i've come accross...
1st one said he didnt have time to answer my question, he was in a hurry
2nd one used a macro saying "Im on PS2 and dont have a keyboard"

Right now there are at least 2 or 3 people able to make paper. It might be more by now. Anyway, the downside is the ones I've heard charge about 20k for the paper. Kind of steep just to get a mediocre job, but if it's what you really want...

you can buy paper in windurst ah about 5-8 k, there is elv that makes them forgot name his price is pretty fair.

I play a bard as an importer ...

I really don't knwo what is the differece between beta and Japanese ... I assume is the same (due to alot of reasons )

according to the how to get adv. job guild in this site (ffxionline.com) you can get the paper at Mhaura with Pikini-Mikini for 500 GIL @@;;;

UNLESS that NPC IS GONE ...... u should be able to do hte same too

Mhaura isn't under regional control so the NPC doesn't exist yet :(.

You can buy it from the Auction House or from the Tanners Guild in South San d'Oria.

Will that be paper or plastic?

some patches ago they remove the parchment from that mhaura NPC. so even if the NPC's selling stuff, he won't sell that parchment anymore
