Thieves and guns?

I've seen that the Thief has a C with a gun, and I heard they and RNG are the only 2 jobs that can use the gun. Is this true? Can a THF use the gun? Also, in that case what lv THF would you have to be to use Slugshot? Could you use the gun if THF was your Sub? Lastly can you switch weapons in battle? Say you bust out Slug shot then switch back to the 2h Katana for the rest of the fight? Thanks.

Guns are for archers only I think.

As for the switching weapons, if Slug Shot is an Weapon Skill and your TP is at 100% it is possible to switch right after you do your WS for Slug Shot though not recommended...and 2handed katanas are for SAMs only i think. I wanted to use a gun too but then someone told me it was for archers only

I dunno, but the database at www.shadow-dragons.com says that WAR, THF, DRK, RNG, and NIN can all use a gun, and I think it's right because that's what I've seen elsewhere.

Thiefs CAN use guns ^^

What jobs exactly can use guns or is it just thf and ranger and is is possible to use guns if your sub job can use guns?

the gun catagory includes the gun and the cross bow. I think only rangers can use all guns and thief can use some, but the rest of those jobs can only use crossbows.
