Fame question.

Do you get fame by doing quests or do you have to have a rank or do missions to get fame?
I went to windurst city to do some quests ( I am not native of windurst) i was able to do all the easy quest but when it comes to harder quests they just won't give me, and yes I am high lvl enough to do the quests.
I did "a gang of justice"
Ghost House
but the next quest they just won't give me, is it because of fame?
Do you have to raise your fame in every city?

I would like to know this myself. I'm only in beta, I dont really care bout the beta but. This is something I would like to know so when it comes to the retail. I will know what to do.

"Fame" as it's called in the game, is exactly the same as "Rank". It's important to remember that some quests have other quests as prerequisites, or require you to talk to someone else first, or allow a certain amount of time to go by after finishing a certain quest/talking to somebody. So to restate, these are all of the possible requirements for a quest:

Rank
Level
Main Job
Other quest taken
Other quest completed
Talked to NPC
X amount of time has passed since N action

Also, sometimes it's necessary to leave the area you're in, and come back, before a quest-giver will give you an additional quest.

I found out some info in game. Tho i did know all info about the quests I was doing, and what quests i had to do before that. In my case i had to do 10 quests in Windurst ( they are all around lvl 5) before i was given quest around lvl 6-10, the quest (lvl 14) i was trying to do still not given to me.
So if i want harder quests i have to do more and more quests....
Which i am tired of doing right now...
Also i heard if you have about 50 quests total (bastok, sandoria, jueno, windurst etc) you will get big fame and will be able to do any quest in any city.
