Hume or Mithra

I can't decide if my retail character is going to be a hume or mithra so I am asking for other people's opinions.

When I get the actual game in October, I'm definitely doing Mithra-- my hume is good and all, but nothing's funner than a Mithra running around nakid (don't ask XD). That and I want to try something different hehe.

I would like to play a mithra, but I don't believe in role-playing opposite genders. Exceptions are like Diablo II where class determines your gender 100%. I may also make an exception for this game, just to play as a mithra, but probably not...

after stressful thinking between hume and taru
i have decided to use hume as can wear good looking armor, able to use all jobs without any disadvantages and can create a squall lookalike if possible ^^

then taru is so cute and they are the best mages, not sure if they can also wear thsoe great looking armors..
but it distrubed me greatly when i saw on the livecam today a taru using a dagger getting killed by a huge ogre with just 2hits...
and at the beginning when sololvling will be abit of problem due to their hp...

so hume is going to be my choice:)

Squall, any race can use any armor, job is what decides what you can wear. And no you can't make a Squall look a like (thanks god).

I am a hume in the beta and created a mithra thief for my storage character and ended up leveling her and I really like her. I think I'm going to be a mithra in the full version. I'm a female in the real world, so the opposite gender thing wouldn't be a problem. I do think it is a little odd when guys play mithras.

It really does not bother me to play a female character, but I would have more fun and be able to RP (roleplay for those that don't know) better if I where playing a male and I love to RP thats why I play these game to be someone else not myself......

I am a guy who is gonna play as a mithra. THe whole guy playing as a girl thing never was problem to me in mmorpgs. I just made all my female characters lesbian. Crude? Maybe. Fun? Hell YES! I mean come on it's logical too. There's what, like 6 male mithras? If there's no carpet eating going on then I would be shocked. I mean what are the tales for. :P

Heck, I'm like that today.. Red's my favorite color... I like balanced power.. Evil and Good magic in one?

Hume is my calling... I'm a human now... I know.. I might add an additional character... A white haired evil elvaan... but.. no... I would be a hume in that world.. no doubt... I believe in the prosperity of humes... Mithra's.. well.. I may see myself getting beat by a female playing a female Mithra.. I never thought of going for Mithra.. It's a girl!!.. :sweat: Although I would like to look at a female character's a$$ all day.. I have to be that character...

The fact is that I'm not escaping myself.. I want to be as close to myself as possible... I just want to see how I owuld do in a diffeent reality.. Would I succeed? Does it hold some furtone to this reality... Heh heh, I told you... I'm a well balanced but deep person... I haven't even scratche the surface..

I just can't wait to be "me" in the game! I mean I even found a hume that looks like me.. (not telling you) in color of eyes, hair.. Hey, I would have that long hair in a medieval world no doubt..

I like Hume a lot more than Mithra. Mithras are okay, but Humes are just plain better in my opinion. They look cooler and I think they have more Str and Vit than Mithra.

I played a Mithra thf/nin in the import and im a guy. I think thats fine. My mithra was also a lesbian, im my head that is. Originally, i was Elvaan, but aroud lvl 10, I got really annoyed how my elvan was looking with such long arms, it reminded me of a monkey. Even worst was, the frist few lvls when your wearing armour that make you look like your wearing a thong, god that was awful... I had to contantly look at my char ass in a thong. I founf it disturbing. I i figured that if im always going to be staring at my character from behind, might as well be mithra and look at a nice ass. The stats for thf, helps too.

But for the import, if i plan to be a thf/nin or Drg/sam again, ill be mithra. If i decide to go for Sam/war, ill be a hume. But i will creat both char for sure, and use one for storage, and then maybe lvl him/her. I think samurais look best as hume, whil a Mithra Drg would be pretty kool.

I have no problem playing as a female character. Actually, I don't see what the big deal is, I mean, it's only a game. I don't see how people get so sexual in games and such "my Mithra's a lesbian" etc. I don't know, but best not to concern myself with it. On the bright, but disturbing side, people are usually really nice to you just because it's a female videogame character.

But anyways, I find Mithra to be a great race. They're awesome mages, and superb Thieves. So if you go Thf or any other melee and don't like it, you can go mage and still be one of the best. No other race really has this. Galka, while great and my second favorite race, is stuck in melee. I don't like Elvaan too much, decent tank but Galka are much, much, much better. I hate seeing Taru tanks, and prefer every other race for melee in my group, so I find them really only good for mage. Hume, while ok at everything, isn't great at anything and there is no job I'd put specifically for Humes. Basically, a "great all around party" wouldn't have a Hume in it, and if it did, there is no doubt you could exchange them for a race that's a better fit for whatever job the Hume is doing. I think Hume is the most "over rated" race. On the bright side, they make decent mages. Oh, and the only Taru melee job I don't mind seeing is Thf, although Galka is a better fit, Thief really depends on player ability and armor setup to be made good, except for Elf, they just suck at it.
