Hey guys I am having a problem logging into Playonline. On the main log in screen I try to log into Playonline but I keep getting an error of -1160. Anyone know what this is or if there is some kind of update going on. Thanks

Post a screen so I can see what's the error msg... I hope it is not that you forgot to pay your bill...

It says the network is congested or there is a problem with your connection. Please wait a while or check your network settings / cable etc and try again.

Ohh thx Johnnyram! Hmm this is the first time i tried it with my new cable connection- hope that is not the reason- oh well I will give it another test tmr- I will come back if the problem persists- Thx again!

BTW- Final Fantasy XI auto detects youre connection right?- is it possible that i need to do some playing around with my settings in the sign on area?

Yeah, the network settings for POL and FFXI are both in the logon screen - you know after you've seen the POL intro and pressed start to get the logon screen. There's a Configuration button on there. If you've just changed your connection/ISP you will almost certainly need to change these settings.

Dont worry to much about it if it works well with your other games then your ok. Just restart your computer and modem then log back on in a few and try again. It should be fine.

If your connected to Internet before clicking into POL, you shouldnt have to set anything... Unless you are behind a proxy server... Router/firewall you dun have to worry.

Whenever i get that, I just go to retry and it works.

Hehe well I am getting that error msg again- but now I have my comp connected wireless to a router. I put my router into DMZ and i still get this error msg. Is their anything i must do though POL to get it so that it works with my router.

BTW I tried to open the ports suggested by square and it didnt work so I just put it into DMZ so I dont have to worry about all of that stuff.
