.... is NOT a multi hit WS.

When you hit it, you only get one TP gain (mostly around 14-15), unlike a multi hit WS where you get multiple TP gains according to how many hits it did)

You either hit, or miss with sidewinder. There's no such thing as "my sidewinder hit 2 times out of 5!" or anything like that.

Finally, sidewinder is a "damage output x 4" if you read the description of the skill. Not multi hit.

Ok. So it just multiplies your damage by 4? If that is the case, then if I used eagle eye, then Sidewinder, would it multiply my regular damage by twelve?

Eagle Eye is an attack ability. (like a weapon skill). It doesn't add any further damage to other range attacks.

Ok, thank you tongyang. Even though Eagle Eye doesn't work with Sidewinder, the other ATK up abilities like Beserk and a BRDs song would, right?

And this is just out of curiousity, but what is the most damage you've done as a RNG?

I haven't been really counting, but I believe my highest damage was about 1800 against the dark flame. (Bomb type quest NM)

Bombs have pretty low defense though.

Jei do you realize that Farplaner is a Ranger in AF (see avatar, sig) using Sidewinder and knows that it is not a multi-hit?

I've partied with his Ranger about a dozen times and it's a hit or miss WS.

Sidewinder doesn't mean you throw FOUR arrows at the monster. It is a damage 4x attack.

What you're missing is that if you read closer to the description of sidewinder, it says "4 times power attack".

Although in English, "4 times" can mean 4 separate times, or 4 times as much, in Japanese they're totally different words. In this case, it means "4 times as much damage"
