Which graphic card is better?

why would you ask if you can look and see that your CPU is to weak it requires 800mhz and you have 697 mhz.

and i believ the second card is better i could be wrong though

Is the MHz the speed of the game because if that is the problem couldnt i just turn off the sound?

Turn of the sound?

You should never do that when playing FFXI, the music is frickin' AWESOME.

My suggestion for you is just play the ps2 version because your pc system would not run it very well.

Even though the video card plays a big part, the processor also contributes. Video card alone just isn't enough when you only have 697mhz.

man your cpu isnt that fast, but if you buy the Radeon 9800 pro and then upgrade to like 512 mb of ram, you will run it smooth as hell, oh yeah make sure you have broadband also. Your cpu contributes to the speed of the game but you are in that range where it will hurt you, but not that much. heres what you do, buy the game on PC from gamestop or any of the gamestop affiliate stores near you, try it, then if it doesnt work take it back and tell them it doesnt run on your computer, and they will take it back. you only have 7 days to return games though. hope i helped ya:cool:

No! This computer's CPU is way below requirements. You could buy a $10,000 video card and still have poor performance with a celeron 697 MHz.
Getting ram to 512 mb will prevent the game from "freezing" when using the hard drive as slow memory.

Turning off sound does actually give a bit more computing power to the graphics, but that just ills the experience, don't you think? :3

all you need to do is get a better proccessor, a little more ram and get the Gforce FX 5200, the FX cards where designed to work well with FFXI and Doom III.
I have the Gforce FX 5900 Ultra and it is great :)

How about my 751 Mhz AMD Duron processor? Would that lag badly if I bought a fairly new video card?

it would not hurt to try but I would maybe get a new proccessor
