Im using an old friends CC# and I was about to switch over to Darts(Leon)). The really major problem is that it wont let me switch my payment type!. OK, you have 2 days to fix this, here's the best advice I can give.
Contact Square support - they do have English-speaking support - and tell them your new credit card details before the month ends.

If your payment defaults, it will be the beginning of the end. They will send a bill to the address you registered with - if you are an importer that used a fake address, you will not receive this bill. This bill can only be paid in person, by cash, at a Japanese convenience store. You need to get your payment sorted out before the end of the month.

This is why every 13th of the month, I make sure PLAYONLINE MINATOKU shows up on my CC account...

ugh! >< i dont have a credit card, we've been using a debit card the entire time i signed up which works the same like a credit card, only thing is, there has to be money in the account for the transaction to work, obviously when they tried this month, it didnt have enough money in there, but there should be now! and all i wanna do, is have it try and go through again. HELP

Dun worry, a Debit card works about the same way as a Credit card does. Jus talk to the Service and Support Center to fix dis problem. (by da way, u have ta have money in yur account so that it can work properly)

Here's the number:
+81 3-5447-5050
Mon-Fri 11:00-19:00 JST

They will answer in Japanese, if you can't speak Japanese, please say very clearly that you would like to speak to someone in English. They should get an English-speaking helper for you.

Ockman, it's simple...
If you don't call Japan, you will lose your account. You cannot change the payment details online because you have missed a payment already.

Well, if your parents won't let you make a long distance call on your home phone, then perhaps you can go out and buy a phonecard that will let you call to places like Japan. If that's a no go, then find a friend that has a long distance plan and ask him if you could make a long distance call for a few minutes. It should only cost about a dime and a half per minute. They're just suggestions though. Good luck. ><

Someone should establish a company like 1-800-COLLECT or 1-800-CALL-ATT but for calling countries in Asia.

"It's free for you, expensive for them."

Try calling the US branch then - although the Japan branch definitely had English speakers before because someone here spoke to one ;)

*sigh* goodbye ffxi...you obviously havent talked with an american person at square enix before, everytime i call them about ffxi, they always say they dont have that information available right now, so i KNOW they cant help me.

Jonnyram

At a guess, that's probably why the Japanese branch are refusing to help you too - they have probably been instructed not to answer questions about the English version, so will refuse to get English help.

Sorry you've run into this problem. It seems quite a few people do. You've just got to make certain that you can handle the payments. That's why some people use webmoney, I guess. The system is also not set up particularly well for dealing with missed payments, but that is based on Japan's credit system, not Square's fault.

You can always start up a new account again when this one has died, I guess.

Offer to pay the phone bill and or speak for as short of time possible. . ? I duno but i think it'd be worth salvaging the time you've put into the game.

Give Jonnyram all the necessary details, get him to call for you?

Well, I would trust Jonny ;)

I hope this shit never happens to me. I have way too much time spent into the game.

Btw, doesn't your character have 3 months before deletion? Can't you just reactivate the account with your new payment details? Has Square not done this? Hmm...

Good luck.

Im not sure but thing is my account always gets charged on the 14th of the month. I changed my CC info on the 15th (it was 14th over here but add JST and it becomes 15th) so the final charge was on the old CC info. I was wondering if they would try to charge my account using the new CC info before they suspend my account?

Same thing happened to me too, i gave jonny's friend Leosh all the details and he'll call for me tonight...it's best to fix this before the 31st. Also good willing if you change your address to a person who lives in Japan you know and is willing to hold your bill if its suspended. Or else it's over. Have to have a person call from japan to do this, not an option for ppl outside.

Please do not PM me with your details.
There is nothing I can do about credit card info.

I called Square this morning and they said that they can not accept credit card info over the phone and it HAS to be done through POL. (For security reasons)

If you are getting an error changing your info within POL then you need to get the error number or screen shot or whatever and then call Square with that.

I also confirmed with them that even if your account is deactivated, your character data will remain for 3 months.

Seymour - You might be choosing a different option. Your screen shot says "There is no need to register your payment method" which makes me think you are choosing "Register payment method" instead of "Change payment method/details"

I don't know if they've changed their policy. But when my account was suspended, even after I changed to a new credit card on Playonline AND spending an hour on the phone with them to retro-charge my account for the month before, they weren't able to do it. The guy said the Playonline payment system was set up that the only way to pay is to pay the bill in person. That was like almost a year ago though, hopefully they've changed that policy now, but the only way to find out is to call them, in Japanese. Good luck.

I just called POL. I asked what payment methods are available after the account gets suspended and if the old credit card is not usable.

I expected the lady to tell me the convenience store sheets would be sent to the address. However, she told me that the outstanding payment needs to be made through the old credit card. The credit card company should still be billing you for the outstanding amount. So if you are using your parents' or friend's card, ask them to pay for that first. She told me that the convenience store sheets will not be sent to the addresses.

I guess that makes good sense. Its the credit card company you owe the money at the moment, not POL.
