You can either kill mass amounts of easy monsters like Orcs that drop gil, or you go after the monsters that give good drops and sell the stuff.

Well here's a list of several animals that I know of that give good drops.
Dhamels----> The giraffe thingy---> Drop giant femurs and Dhamel Hide. If you sell in the right place it can be worth 200 for the hides and I think 200 for the femur.--->They can be found in the Tuhrongi, or however it is spelled.
Black Tiger---->Looks like a black tiger---->Drop hides and drop fangs-----> Fangs=300 Hide=360----> They can be found in the Jugner forest, I know that tigers exist other places, but this is the only place iam able to kill them solo.
Quadev----->Look like a walking deformed, mutated turtle---->Drop shell shields and Fetish parts(i.e. torso, head, ect.) and Quadev Backplates----> Shields can be sold for 100 gil, and fetish parts for like 200, and backplates for 200 also ^They also drop scrolls also but very lil gil can be gained from this unless you hit up the auction house.---> Can be found in the P. Mines in upper N. Gust. they can be found everywhere in Gust., but in the mines they are plentiful.
I have other secrets that can be major gil, but I can't give all my secrets put.. hehehehehe.. *slight grin appears on his face, then leans back in his chairand crosses arms nodding in a very slow motion*
:thumbsup: Good luck on your gil hunts men and women, and lil kids.

~for import~
bastok::
the easiest that ive been able to farm with decent drop rate are ameythist quadavse that drop shells that you can sell for 600 in bastok AH and they have high turn over rate. also you can get tin ores that sell for around 400, they drop around the same rate as shells *not that much to around decent* and they have high turn over rate as well. and gob armor
sandoria::
you can get sheep skins and the rare sheep hide*from latheine sheep i think* they sell high in the ah an have high turn over rate, then there the rare claw that those betteels drop that sell for decent and have decent turn over rate. and gob armor
widurst::
silk thread from crawlers, gob armor, some other things, havent been back in windurst for a long time.
~for beta~
if your nation is able to get crystals try guilding since thats still fairly new, people need those guild items, my shell rings always sell *eventually* and shell erring are good to, once you get higher lv's go for higher guild stuff but ohter than that the economy for beta is not that developed to do the above~
