All elvaans are tall and skinny.

and as a matter of fact, in my opinion, the samurai armor looks the worst on elvaans.
On the helm there is a big hole in the side for their ears.
I thought the helm looked ugly before

lol it's chill - i happen to like the slits in the helmet i think it looks great, i find the humes chunky in some armors >.> well i do lol, the non "tall" humes that is and the gloves look so tiny on humes. . proportionally that is. not just saying that to defend the elvaan race lol and there's many whom i know who agree. to each his own. and what i've noticed is so many originally say they don't like the helm but more n more of them begin to say they like it the most of the new AF head pieces.

My judgment about Job's fitting job's is going off all Look/Artistic perspective of how they would appear fashionably. Personally I think Elv's have always made the best Sam's, Male Elvn' mind you. In total personality shown off from a character model Elv Males tend to have the best of it, and being a Samurai a "meaner" looking Elvan model suits it with perfection. I chose hume male just cause I'd prefer a model that would look good for my job, Pld's fit Hume's the best IMO, and a character that would be smiling constantly fits PLD more as well.
Some classes look best for certain jobs, "this is just my opinion, I could be wrong* <Dennis Miller>, like I said.

I think the whole AF armor set looks like a samurai. That's the point isn't it? I like how the whole set looks together (esp. on the Galkans) and it fits what a samurai is supposed to look like.

Ok, you people just dont understand. I guarantee you that the helmet is 100% necissary. It doesnt matter if you think it looks butt ugly or not, you WILL need it. Meditation is the greatest ability a Samurai has, and the helmet giving Meditation+ makes it even more powerful. Getting 140% instead of 100% doesnt sound like much, but IT IS.

I just want people to see my characters face. First off, the original statement wasnt specified at you. It was a generalization. Second, god no, I'm not a beta tester. Third, if its a reason of vain, then only wear the helmet in battle where it's needed. Hell, I dont go running around everywhere with it on, but I do everytime I'm in a level up pt. Fourth, and lastly, I strongly doubt there will ever be such an item. If there was, it'd cost a lot of money to purchase. And why would you, seeing as you can get the helmet *for free*. And it wouldnt just "be added in the american release." It'd have to be in the import version first/at the same time.

Seulgaist, sorry I jumped down your throat, and that idea about wearing it only in battle is a good one, I'll probably end up doing that. It seems like there's more than one make of the armor too. Can you choose this yourself, or is it dependent on the bodytype you chose earlier?

I don't know why, but to me, that helmet just says "Samurai." More than any other piece in the AF armor set, that piece tells me that that person is a samurai. Honestly, I love the whole look the samurai gets and if I wasn't dead set on making a Dragoon, I would love to sport the WHOLE AF armor set for the samurai... plus, a boost to Meditation... can't pass that up.

I think the main reason why most people don't like it, is because they either want people to see their characters face, or they have an idea in their heads that all samurai look like Kenshin or Samurai Jack.
Its aesthetics, some people will favor them even over common sense and stat bonuses. Just calmly explain to them that it does infact look cool, give picture examples like the guy above, and be patient with them.
