What weapons can thieves use?

What weapons can thieves use and what grade are they? I am going for samurai/thief and I am wondering if, as I level thief, I can boost up some weapon skills for my samurai main job.

For a Thief I use grapples mainly becuase every party I get into they tell me to use them..heh, but other than that I use a one hand sword.

No job can use 2H Katana BUT SAM, and that's going to be your main weapon. Best you can do is level up your spear if you're using WAR as a sub for your THF in the mean while. It's good to have a second or even third weapon leveld ready incase there's a renkei link your party wants to do. As a SAM you'll be using 2H Katana and spear... so THF won't help you level your skills at all.

Hm, ninjas can use Two handed katanas too, can't they?

Ninja shouldn't be able to use katanas period. The weapons they used were straight edged swords. Anyway...

I know only samurai can use 2h katana, but I was wondering if thief had any spear ability.
