Playing the jobs

Hello everyone. I got two more questions I was wondering.

First off, exactly how hard is it to get to the current level cap? Is it pretty tough, or are there those hardcore gamers that have a couple classes at the cap?

And with that said, I am curious on how you guys play out the jobs. When I first starting learning about FFXI, I was planning on going a Hume, and leveling all the jobs. I was planning on having them all on hand in case I needed to be something different at times. But now, I'm seeing that may be a dumb idea? How do you guys play? Do you just focus on two jobs, main and sub (and maybe even a sub-sub, heh :P)?

I anxiously awaiting my beta kit, so I don't know what FFXI is like or how the jobs go. Thanks in advance.

I know I'm planning on working on every job as much as possible, but for my Tarutaru, I want to do mainly White Mage, Black Mage, Bard and Summoner. For focusing on offensive jobs, I want to create either a Galka or Elvaan. There's really no way to recommend certain ideas other than...do what you want! (That's what's so great about it!)

Well that's what my Taru did he basically tried most of the jobs but then that wasn't to good for him becuase I realized he wasn't fit for it. I also have another character Mithra and she is only a Thief so far. But I wouldn't waste your time nor your effort to do every single job that would be just a pain. To get to level 65? 70? Anyways to get that high will take you a looonnng time.
