Fast Cast

As far as that skill is concerned, how much of a deduction is it? Would it be better to have RDM as an SJ or main? I checked several time with the dual stats calculator what the stat differences would be between RedMage/BlackMage, BlackMage/RedMage, and different combos with WhiteMage. But as far as stats go, the Red/Black seems to be the best combo for me. But the only thing other variables I could think about would be the difference of equippment between the RedMage and the Black and White Mages.

you magic skill will reduce your cast time.
fast cast will reduce your cast time.
as for how much reduction you'll get, that's not fixed i think. I still got a lot of variation in cast timing still.

for job combination I think it's pretty much what you want...

for WHM, I really can't give up /blm for the wonderful desion ^^; still... too useful.

Casting spells that have a short cast time (like Cure, Dia, Poison) isn't affected that much by Fast Cast since the spells cast quickly anyway. You'll only notice the time difference with really long spells (like Regen or one of the level II black mage spells), but you only save a few seconds in the end.

Thanks guys for the info. But I was also wondering what kinds of weapons and armor classes can a RDM equip? Also, are add Element to Weapon spells as good as I imagine they are? I figured that they wouldn't be at first because I thought most enemies had to be "Magical" in order to have an elemental weakness but according to the Beastiary at www.black-dragons.com, most creatures have one or two element weaknesses. And last of all, what are all five pieces of the AF armor named and what kind of additions/bonuses does every piece give to the mage? I saw Jei's journal section about obtaining the Red Mage's Guantlet and the quest alone seemed rather difficult. I could only assume that the guantlet alone was powerful.
