US Beta Servers

Hiya

Just want to know the list of the US Beta servers names since I've haven't found them on this website (pretty good btw). I expect to receive my beta disks tomorrow and my friends and I wish to know where we'll start :)

Moreover, is that true that we can create only one character, even in the beta ?:confused:

Moremoreover, if you have suggestions for a group of three, for classes, they're welcome. :thumbsup:

PS2 Beta Server: Cactuar
PC Beta Server: (Some name I can't spell or pronounce) -- I've seen it on the board before though....

There is only one beta server, Cactuar. And uh, how do you know that you will be getting your beta discs tomorrow (assuming you are talking about the PC beta)?

Because the PR girl tell me so :

We are finally getting ready to send out the PC beta kits. ETA at your office is next Wed/Thursday. Let me know if you need anything from us in the meantime.

No, there are two beta servers. PS2 and PC testers (for some reason) are separated. At some point in the future, they might merge, but for now, there are 2 different servers.

You are wrong, there is only one. I emailed them personally and they said the PCers and PS2ers will be on the same server. Search the forums, I made a thread about it not too long ago.

She said that Thuesday morning. Square always ship us betas by high priority, so I expect it tomorrow, don't know for real beta-testers though, sorry...

Huh? Real beta-testers? What do you mean by that?

In case no one answered (didn't see it mentioned), you can create multiple characters in the PS2 beta, so I assume you can do so in the PC beta. You have to sign up for additional content ID's, but during beta they are free, so go nuts :)

I have 4 now, only play one, but just never deleted the other train characters because they are free :P

Biggest pain is entering your ffxi reg code for each new ID.....should be easier with the PC due to c/p, on ps2 it was a pain.....even more so if you didn't have a keyboard.

Actually there is only *1* server Twinrova. Shadowdragons info is wrong. There is only 1 server because the peak for Ps2 users is 400 and the GM's also said there was only 1 server. The ps2 people Im sure wouldnt mind having mroe people to game with, especially at times when theres maybe 40 something people on X_x

Hmmm....sorry for the misinformation then. Everything I had seen pointed to there being 2 servers (which I really didn't understand anyway), but I'm glad to know that S-E just made it one.

niiice, Im so glad there both on the same server, this way I can play with my friend, and plus I the server right now is really empty. The game doesnt work great without more people.

whats the max amount of people per server, because there are about 7,000 more people coming into the beta. I don't think there will be only one. Maybe at first :\

My Question:
Hello, this is another question about beta testing for Final Fantasy XI. Will Windows beta testers and PS2 beta testers be on the same server with each other? I have heard that PS2 users are on the server Cactuar, and Windows users will be on the server Glasyalabolas. Can you confirm this? I thank you for your time and patience.

Thank you for your interest in the PlayOnline(TM), FINAL FANTASY(R)XI, and Tetra Master(TM) Public Beta Test.

The PlayStation(R)2 and Windows(R) beta testers will both be playing on Cactuar during the U.S. beta test.

if there are 20 servers (27 in some sites) in for japanese players (there are about 200,000 registered acording to some SE article somewhere on their site) how will both US and japanese players be able to go to the same servers:confused: For anyone who playes counter-strike in a foreign server, emagine the lag that would occur at peak times. even for the beta server, if eveyone goes on at the same time, the server may be pushed over it's limits. did the POL guys account for this or am i just overcritical?

Doppleganger, the lag situation is very different for FFXI and Counter-Strike lol. I have a few importer friends (living in MA) and the lag is just as good as me and we have the same connection. SE has also already annouced that they are making both peoples connect together, but i am not sure if we will be allowed on the already made servers, i think they will make some servers just for ENG-JAP people or something, but dont quote me on anything.
