How do the other job classes open up?

I was just wondering how you opened up the other job classes. Does it happen as you level up or what? Also, you have to be level 18 to get a sub-job, is that right?

When one of your jobs is up to lvl 30, you can then do quests to open up the advanced jobs. Each job has a different quest associated with it.

Yes, at 18 you can recieve and complete the subjob quest and then apply a subjob. You can collect the items before 18 if you get into a group that is looking for them (skulls I've heard are a little rarish).
