Quick Question about creating a new character

When you first start off, are you able to pick dark knight, ranger, or any of the expansion jobs or do you have to get to level thirty before their jobs are accessable?

I believe all the expansion jobs have to be aquired at level 30 by doing a quest. Any of the normal advanced jobs (without expansion) can be obtained normally I think at level 18 along with a sub job.

Not only do you have to be level 30, but you have to do a quest in order to access them.
