--Just to start, forgive me if this is posted already --
Can anyone send me a link or write down the list of the Jobs (main) that are most looked for in a group? (who gets the most invites) I would assume that healers and bards would be up there followed closly by the big tanks. Where do theives stand on the list? Anyway, sorry if this is somewhere already. Thanks:handsdown
i think... i'll devide into 4 groups myself....
1. easiest to get PT. super needed... every want them in their PT.
- White mage
- Bard
- Black mage
- Red mage (at high level)
- Summoner (at high level)
- RDM and SMN at low level would fall to group 2.
2. PT likes to have them. but there's so many of them so only 1 can be picked.... (or 2 the most) these jobs are fairly easy to get party. but you just gotta make sure when you looking for party that there's no 10 other people at your same level same job competing with you.
- SAM
- THF
- PLD
3. PT don't normally specificly look for these jobs. but if lack someone to perform certain task or got space they'll pick them. kinda harder to get party.
- Warrior
- Dragoon
3-2. same as 3... but these jobs are less loved by people so even harder then 3
- Monk
- Dark knight
- Ninja
- Ranger
4. PT never look for them unless deperately need member
- Beast Master

I've personally never found it hard to get a party with Monk, I didn't have to wait too long for an invite or if I asked to join I would 95% of the time get in. That's of course as long as I subbed Warrior. Parties do oh so love tuant.

At higher levels, PLDs would go in the top bracket...
every PT I've been in for a few weeks has had/rigorously looked for a PLD to be the punching bag...

Surely jobs can't be the only factor in determining invites. Maybe this is the case for import players because the majority of players would be speaking Japanese, thus the comradery and friendship would not matter so much (correct me if I'm wrong).
I'm playing the PS2 beta version right now, and I really don't care what jobs other people have. What I do care about is their personally/friendliness (and not acting all superior and like such a prick -- I've met a few of those). Another minor thing I care about if their level is similar to my own, but I don’t really mind playing with players who have higher or lower level than I am.
I think you should pick what character/job you like best and just enjoy them and not worry about being popular or getting invites. Because eventually you will find a group of people who you like and becomes friend, and mainly play with them. That has always been my experience in online games anyway.

I couldn't speak for import players, but I must imagine it is difficult to strike up a friendship with someone if you can't speak Japanese. I mean, does anyone know the Japanese to English speaking players ratio?
As I've mentioned, I'm playing the PS2 beta version, my character is a Hume Warrior and I have no problem finding players to play with or party to join. And I play late at night when there are even less players on the servers. So, I would think that once this game is officially release in North America, and thousands more will join in, finding people to play with will not be a problem regardless of your character type or job.

Messiah the biggest setback for importers having trouble in getting Pt is their own lack of language skills.
I for one will only wait 30 minutes for a PT call.
I check my linkshells (sigh: all 6 :( ) for folks my level .
Then i look for japanese friends who havent leveld up for some reason or another. After that I'll Go make the Pt on my own .
WHen making Pt you 100% never have to wait around and you also form many friends this way .
The biggest problem with importers and NA versionusers will be the lack of their on communication skills.
I have an interest in japanese culture and really want to learn from them .
That helps and also another thing to remember is that many japanese have a basic understanding of english even if its from TV.
ANother thing in all PT's I say
Minnasann wa eigo wakarimasita ka...
Even though I speak soem nihongou It will surprise you when they answer and almost 85 % of PTs ive been in has at least 1 english speaker.
