View Full Version : What are some good Macro's for a THF?
Would anyone give some so that the newb THF's could kinda get an idea of some good ones. I know I sure would, I dont really understand how they work right now so maybe if you post some you could maybe give a bit more info on them thanks. :spin:
I dont know how they tanslate abilities into engish so keep in mind the ability names might be different
here's what i have
/p sneak+decieve attack!
/ja sneak-attack <me>
/wait 2
/ja decieve-atack <me>
- this macro is for normal sneak+decieve without WS. I normally keep my ability menu on all the time to keep track of my timing. and when time in the menu reach about 5-6 seconds, it normally will be rady to use
/p TP <tp>, sneak+decieve is ready! Start renkei at anytime
- it's the THF task to keep track of their TP and abilities. You want the party to wait for your snak+decieve to be ready to use before you launch WS
/p sneak+decieve WS, go~ <call2>
/ja sneak-attack <me>
/wait 2
/ja decieve-atack <me>
/wait 2
/ws (what ever WS you want to use)
- I used to have my WS in a seperate macro.... but it's really a lot easier to put them into 1....
/ja sprint <me>
and
/tagetnpc
/ja steal <t>
- sprint and steal is my "monster calling steal" set... I have sprint in my CTRL macro and steal in my ALT macro. basicly it's for use when im THF/RNG. I scan and found NM, I dash, and I use targetnp+steal to take the monster as soon as possible
and some more.... i think depends. but the above is like the most important macros for me so far.

This is the first time (call me a newb) that I've even heard of macro's being available. What do the /p and /ja do? Can you explain how to set up macros?
Thanks
macros are set of commands put together and tied to a key. you can access macro from main menu and use them by holding down ALT/CTRL + numbers 1-0. Or, press R1 R2 and pick macro with your joy pad if you use joy pad. (joy pad is the main thing i use now lately)
every command you put in macro will work if you type them in in a chatting messege too.... for example
/p hi there > /p means party chat. if you type this you'll say "hi there" to your party and if you put it in macro and use it, you';ll do the same thing
/ja is job ability. you use /ja ability_name target.
so if you use on enemy, it will be /ja taunt <t> (<t> is what you are targeting)
use on self will be /ja charge <me> (<me> is yourself)
and a lot more
Well Jei thanks, but you couldnt tell me or anyone how I could get my Boost then my Sneak Attack to work. I can only get Boost to work an not Sneak Attack could anyone help me?
/ja boost <me>
/wait 2
/ja sneak attack <me>
you'll need /wait 2 atleast between 2 abilities.
I've tried that, it seems that everytime I do it it messes up... Boost will cast fine, and then it will try to cast SneaK Attack and say
>>/jobability Sneak Attack
...A command error occurred.
hmmm is your ability really called "sneak attack" using 2 words?
my guess...
1. is that you use /ja sneak attack .... and so the game reads it as /ja sneak .... and the word attack is floating there creating error
2. is that you don't have <me> at the end. this ability need to target to self.
I'm more concern about 1 tho.... I don't know how it would actually work if the ability has 2 words (because in JP version they would all be 1 continuous set of characters).... can you open the ability menu and take picture of the ability names for me? I wanna take a look

allow a beta tester to answer it then my friends..
. ) for abilities that have two words, use quotations..
example
/ws "Gust Slash" <t>
will use your weaponskill gust slash on whatever enemy is targetted . ) hope it helps!
Thanks guys, I got it to work
I was missing the quotation marks, and it was doing like you guys were saying... Thinking that Sneak was the skill, and Attack was just something else floating aro..
Another question,
Is there a way so that the game will notify me when I can use my Sneak Attack or Boost again? I tried putting a:
/wait 60
/p Boost + Sneak Attack is ready to use!'
at the end of my macro, but it says "Boost + Sneak Attack is ready to use!" before it even performs the Boost + Sneak Attack, instead of multiple seconds after.
i think max time you can use /wait is 20 (or 15)
normally i just keep my ability menu openned and look at the timing there.
O ok, thanks a lot for your help. Looks like I'll have to do that from now on. :(
