Whats the average gil that you get from defeating monsters?
Also whats the best way to actually get gil? Missions/Quest?

Well, I'd guess gil ammounts depend on monster level... As for money, not sure... finding/making things and selling in the auction house, maybe? Those San'Doria quests seem promising...

I'm tempted to say 'being a thief,' myself, but I won't though ;)

killing a monster and get the gil drop by them is not a god way. becoz most of time you will find that it just a little gil they drop.

there are a few ways to get more gil. sell the item you get from monster in acution house, using bazaar. another is go to fight some monster which drop armor and sell them to shop.

orcish, goblins and quadav drop some gils. the low levels around the starting town drop about 5-15 and the stronger ones can drop 40-60.

If you travel into their lair and kill them, they also drop armors and stuff you can sell. The stronger they are, the higher level items they drop. ie: level 6-7 orcish drops level 1-3 armors, level 20-25 orcish drops level 7-12 armors and 25-30 orcish drops level 17-20 armors

At level 35-40 you can kill these monsters which drop level 20 armors easy. cost 600-900 each selling to NPC. You have to spend time to kill them a while to collect money tho. my 41 WHM stock up there lv 20 armors and sell them for 10,000-18,000 gil total. took about 2 hours to fully stocked (and longer if the place is crowded)

... and because im a WHM ... a 30 WAR can kill faster then my 41WHM. He just lose more HP....

I have been playing Ragnarok Online for a bit. That game does not drop a single bit of money anywhere. The ONLY way to make money off of RO is to sell items the enemy drops. Let me reiterate: the ONLY way. It's so hard to make money off that game that the the in-game economy is that of Russia's economy shortly after the went to a capitalist monetary system. There is runaway inflation inside RO.

I'm very thankful that the mosnters will drop any gil at all In FF11. It helps to guard against that runaway inflation I mentioned. And makes the game a little easier to play. It helps keep the in-game economy in check.

well, the system of RO seem make some sense.... in reality, you cant get the money drop by the animal you killed.... (maybe a joke)

Well...it does make sense in a way. Those Guav and ORc are warriors themselves, they have armors...they just drop dead and you steal it's armor...

well u should be able to scavenge all a monsters stuff once its dead just not armor and weapons, i mean if u see a goblin with a xbow then u should be able to get that also. i'd like to see a more monster oriented town that welcomes quadavs and goblins etc. sort of like Jeuno(SP)...well a town that has monsters that can actually talk and use items.
