Ok, I thinking i should be a red mage. I just need some help on these questions.

Question Number 1.I know that you have to be a higher lvl to get some spells to use them (Example: White mage can get cure when he a level 1 but Red Mage has to be level 3 to get the spell cure... Now what im asking is that does that cure give the same amount of HP for when a white mage and red mage get them at the same time? Is one going to be stonger because he a white mage and for some odd reson red mages attacks are't as good. This is just a rumor that i heard... Just asking if its true or not..

Question Number 2. Red Mages seem to be a mix of a black mage and a white mage... I see that red mage have alot of the Black mages and white mages spells. Are there any spell that red mage might have that a white mage or black mage wouldn't have??

Question Number 3. I see that you have to be a type of race to wear diffence type of gear. What type of gear does a red mage mostly wear???

Question Number 4. What Starting weapon do you start off with?

Question Number 5. Say your in a party with 5 other guys. Your party members start to hit the enemy. When you cast a attacking spell at the enemy he start to go after you... If the enemy gos after you, does it happen allways, sometimes, or just about never?

Question Number 6. It seem that mages at a little hard to start off with. Is there a level that you might be that things become easyer.

Question Number 7. Whats the best place to start off in?? Around that area would the guys be more vulnerable to your attacks.. Hmm.... you might be able to fine better spells in the town... Things like that.

1. each spell got their own maximum value they can heal. cure 1 for example can cure for 30. (in the right condition it can heal more. once in a while like a critical hit)
I believe it's the healing magic skill (and MND maybe) that determines how much you will be healing with each cure spell.
at low level both RDM and WHM won't heal as high as 30. can be 20,22,26 etc. with WHM healing a little more than RDM like 2-3 points
however when you progress in level you will heal for more and more until at 1 point both RDM and WHM will both heal for 30.
same thing with cure 2, cure 3, etc.

2.
white magics for only RDM are: HP regenreation, MP refresh, phalanx, Enchanting elemantals
black magics for only RDM are: gravity, dispell

3. all race can wear same equiptment. job is what determine what you can wear (with exception of race-specific armors)

4. I didn't start out with RDM.... but train sword mainly. it's the best weapon for RDM. and dagger if you like

5. depends on situation and roles......
lower level some rdm use warrior as sub job. so they perform a 100% tanking role. in this case yea whenever you taun you ge thit.
more and more higher level you are, you start to play more like a suporting healer. your healing will make monster attack sometime. like once or twice every fight normally. and the tanks can usually taunt off you.

6. actually it's easy all the way if you party... most people seem to consider level 1-15 a solo level, which is..... quite right maybe.. i mean it's soloable but you'll be amazed how easy it is to level up in party at those levels too...

7. for beginning, what ever city that you like is good. low level spells can be found everywhere. by the time you need higher level magics you'll be able to travel to other town already.

Maybe windurst just because the starting rign adds to mp .
I chose bastok casue of the flag and the fact that cid lives there.

But sandoria is great place for anyone.
I n fact i reccomend it .
heres why
SANDORIA quest = alot and very easy to do 80 % of them are soloable.
Windurst quests suck soooo much booty its a shame.
Bastok quest fall in the middle. some are easy and most just not worth it .
Sandoria can fill yuor pockets pretty quick.
also as rdm or blm you get the drain spell from sandoria, which is 100% usefull.
Bastok has dezone and windurst has blazespike all are crucial spells.


Also just as I told soem new LS members dont let anyone tell you rdm is a sucky healer or nuker and whatever nonsense they can think of .
I helped 3 Ls members level up yesterday using my heals and buffs. Two were in a two Man Pt and anotehr soloed and i kept them all together and healed them when called for .
Went very well...


Also a reccomendation when you are in a level up Pt and are able to have the summoner job. I reccomend taking
it as your sj over blm .
Your mp total will be sooo high its ashame.
The downside is you take a hit in the hp department.
bUt in a pT it dun matter if you are a nuker and healer.
You can cast a summons get teh buff from it and make it go away then heal and nuke the monster.
Best thing about rdm summoner combo is that as a RDM you have both heals and nukes.
a whm may have curega but if he casts it the hate will be insane and he cant take the hits. you can however.because of the armor you can wear... and also even in a 30+ level up PT you can even take your sword ..just incase..:) a two hand staff has nice buffs but whacking a mons or 4-10 damage is sucky, sword 19-27 is soo much better:)

I plan to use BLM and WHM as my sub-job. I guess I could get Summoner but I'd be pretty lazy to get the summons (don't really see the point of it unless for the all spells), and then I'd have Warrior to maybe 10, and THF to 32 or something for treasure hunt (or I'll just make a THF friend :spin: ). But I would still level BLM and WHM high. I also plan to start in Bastok because I'll be a Hume, and I can only (for the best of my knowledge) get the help-full ring from my starting country. If my friend gets this I'll tell him to be a Thief and then I just won't worry about that and then I'll level BLM,WHM, and SUM.
