that monster they're fighting in Limbo is dealing 350 damage to a 75 Pld with a regular attack

the area attacks it use don't help the situation... man that group got slaughtered quick

Limbo will definitely be interesting, and apparently South San is going to become a graveyard for those who venture in unprepared

my wndows media player is pretty screwed up. First, it wouldn't stream files at all, so I updtaed to version 9 to watch limbo, and now it loads ultra slow.

I hear sound and magic being casted, but I'm stuck on one frame.

I think the problem is on Playonline's end, its not loading consistently for me either, and that may be due to server overloading due to people viewing this event

Speculation thus far: (in other words, what I think this is)

This event is on the Atomos server and is testing certain functions in Limbo, specifically they seemed to be testing what happens when an over-alliance all returns to homepoint at once, which may be testing a possible server load issue

The fact that GMs were among the players and that the players had the green/yellow stripe to mean a netcafe client should mean that the people controlling the players are either GMs themselves or are helping S-E do this testing, they're following directions too well to be a group of random people playing from a netcafe. This is supported by the fact that every player seemed to level down when killed (75 -> 74) showing that the characters all had artificial Exp values instead of being actually leveled up normally

actually no, my windows media player won't load at all anymore again. I click help and it redirects me to a page at microsoft that tells me absolutely nothing I didn't know already. I bet if I recorded this, it would work, but microsoft had to be a pain in the ass and make windows media player a female dog.

hmm I already had WMP v9 when I first tried to play the streaming video so I'm not sure of any possible version compatability issues, but I can't get the FFXI Live Cam to come up again so I assumed you were having the same problem

The streaming is fine on my side. But I still had to right click and save the link to the disk. Then launch the video. It works fine that way :p

so I suppose the video being streamed now is simply a portion of this event, all I got to see was the players being told not to fight back or use abilities (though a Pld used Provoke) and then get killed en-masse

the 2 day event is probably not recorded and is live, hence the name "live cam" that they still show on the site.

Just my speculation however.
