Trials of Triel :Darkness rising Pt1

I cant remember if it was a dream or not ..
The feelings creeping thru me were more than I could bare.
I slept poorly that night, The shadowlord and zeid played tricks with my head.
What were they saying?

Why were the 3 of us standing together?

My memory so hazy .....

The only words I remember fully were that darkness would take me..should I fail to head ......

Zeid ...I thought he fought for Bastok ..
Yet here he was having a talk with me and the evil of vana diel.

The shadowlord smiled at me and bid me farewell..
I was so confused..

I wasnt even asleep
I had a day dream during animportant assignment.

That wasnt very safe for me to do..

After this mission I would try to seek some answers.
Was it just a dream after the defeat of the shadowlord .. or some weird re awakening in me?

I always had problems with straying from the path of dark and light.
ever since my first meeting with Zeid s o long ago.
He had asked me to follow the path of darkness .. not neccessarily evil but to use anymeans needed to get the job done.
As a rdm I walked a tightrope of balance....Healing....Destruction.

I chose the destructive aspects to follow.

After the mission was completed I headed back to civilization.
My answers would not come from Bastok sad to say..I headed north to the kingdom of sandoria...
I saught soem relief....Red mages were kind of a staple of Sandorian history... A large part of its ties to magic..

I hoped that in e temple of the goddess I may speak to someone of standing to provide me with something.....

The dark was engulfing me.....
I knew no where else to turn..

In sandoria I head to the northern area of the kingdoms
where the faith was located.


What brings you here child...?

I dont know ?

Do you seek absolution for some crime or do you seek something else?
A lose of faith perhaps?

I would lie if i said I knew why I was here...
I just feel a growing cloud in my soul ...... a welling darkness.

I thought by coming here that maybe I could...

Lord Shamonde !! What brings you to the temple this day..

I stood and turned and saw the regal cleric.

I sensed a darkness coming to Sandoria this day.
Triel many red mages become so because they walk a tight balance of good and evil..
But you Triel of Bastok.that darkness is strong in you and may overwhelm you one day..
You may become the very thing you seek to destroy and i n doing so replace it.

What is this darkness Ive battled it my whole life , I s there anything I can do to cleans myself?

Shamonde shook his head..

Sadly no Cleansing is not inyour future..
YOU, Triel must always balance..that is your fate on vanadiel..
You have very little light in your soul that is why you feel this way.

You are surrounded by death and destruction inyour travels.
I will help you you need light inyour soul .

The other priest added , " You cannot balance if one dominates the other"

You must equalize Triel, I will send you on a quest to find yourself. You must bring balance to yourself, If your darkness overwhelms you

My fate will forever tilt vanadiel...

Yes they both said.
Your quest will not have an ending child ..only forever balancing. there will be times where you will shift but you must regain it.

Where do i begin ?

Zitah ..An ancient forest north and east of jueno begin there.

What will I find?

You will know when you arrive.

And so it begins..
Making my way thru the back alleys of the mog house
I head to south sandoria..
Zitah awaits..

Wonder should I take along a friend or stay the course alone..

perhaps later for now This is a journey about me ..
A story of light and darkness, not light vs darkness.

I am fated to be a balance forever ..or so im told..
Neither good or evil.
