I was doing a Supply quest for the Elshimo Uplands for the Teleport Service (trying to get every one that I can.)
Up until now, I was able to deliver the supplies and teleport home for the fee.
This time, for some reason, that wasn't an option.
I dismounted, gave the NPC the supplies and to my sheer,
perfectly undescribable horror, I could not port home.

Now, this is the Outpost for the Elshimo Uplands, Yhoator Jungle...
meaning I was in an area with the most evil and creepy of all Beastmen...Tonberrys...
I had no way out.
If I had stayed put, I would be safe, but I'd get nothing done.
I couldn't run anywhere, because every tunnel would have at least one argo monster that conned IT.
I complained to a few of my friends before I finally decided to at least TRY to run home...
I'd rather lose some exp than feel like a pussy. ��
I ran around, avoiding most of the monsters until,
thinking nothing was around the corner, a Tonberry Hexer started attacking me.
I ran as fast as I could back to the outpost,
and I almost go rid of him, but after a few seconds, he caught up.
I ran around randomly until I resolved to run through some other mobs
in the hopes that the gigantic train I was generating would not run me over before I made it to a zone.
Somehow, I lost a bunch of them and made it to the Gate Crystal in one piece.
I started healing and it seemed like I could wait there and hope a PT would port there and give me a ride home...
Once again, things didn't fly that way.
Tonberrys must run slower than molasses in January,
because one of their ELEMENTALS caught up with me and cast a Fire 2.
That left me with (and this is very important) 2 HP...
I ran and ran past everything not really knowing which way I was going
(if you don't know, the Jungles aren't the easiest to navigate even with a map.)
Somehow, I actually made it back to Yatunga (sp) and gave myself a nice rest.

I was a hop, skip, and a jump away from the next zone.
I just had to make my way back with out any problems and...there was a problem.
I believe it was a goblin furrier that first locked on to me...
created a small train while I was running my ass off.
My options were rather limited,
I had to make it to an area I KNEW was relatively safe, and fast.
What was the closest? Sea Serpent's Grotto.
Somehow, I had (once again) eluded my would-be pursuers and had some time to rest.

Sea Serpent's Grotto...
Only place I dislike more is Gusgen Mines (chills me to the bone, it does.)
In the narrow passages of the Grotto, I couldn't give the Sahagin the wide birth I gave them outside in Yatunga, so I basically argoed everything.....Sorry. :[
I ran my ass off saying "TRAIN!!! TRAIN!!!" and even through the crabs and bones, I made it to Norg....g'damn...

As I gradually calmed down, I was proud that I never lost a single exp on this fool's errand.
I changed to my suicide job (RDM) and walked around norg.
I came upon the lucky roll guy, and without really thinking, I paid for a roll....

klak-ilk klak-ilk....I rolled a 2........
which made the day's total 400 winning me TEN THOUSAND GIL!

BAM!

The End, basically.

Nice story, you're good at running huh? I hope people will take the time to read this post and not be discouraged by it's lack of pictures & length; a damn good read I say.
