While wondering through Bastok, Shoe found a resting Dragoon in full AF! After changing his pants, he took about 10 screens and even made a movie of him dynamically... resting. Some might think this is overdoing it, but let me tell you; when you're a Dragoon in full AF, you deserve it. Coolest class ever. Also going to be Shoe's class of choice, possibly sometime 4 years from now, since he levels slower than the raise cast time.

Well, I have about 4 more pictures I was going to post, but the amount of attachments is already getting out of hand, so I'll start concluding this installment of the amazing adventures of Shoe.
--------------
Shoe had been farting around, skipping homework since school started, and not doing much of anything productive. But somehow, he made it to level 11. Upon reaching this level, he did what he had been doing before: Running around Konschtat and fighting monsters for 36 exp (with the occasional 50-72 thrown in) and having to rest after every battle. This was very boring an ineffective, so he sat down and chat with his linkshell. He found out one of them was in Konschtat, a Mithra named Valeria. So, he ran over to her and realized just how small Mithra were. Yes, all of that was pretty much a waste of time to read. Aren't you happy now?

Anyways, Shoe noticed the linkshell was getting a low-leveled party together for some subjob leveling. Shoe was around the right level, so he decided to join. One problem: Level 11s don't make it from Bastok to San'doria without help. Thus, Reaper kindly came to the rescue again and escorted Shoe through the Valkrum dunes, which drop Shoe's frame rate like an old lady getting drop kicked out of a 15th story window. Despite these problems, Reaper safely brought Shoe to San'doria.

Before I go into the post's story again, I just want to mention how weird it felt travelling out of Bastok for my first time. Having never been past Konschtat for somewhere over 2 weeks (Yeah, I'm that slow), the trip to San came as a big suprise. Mostly because it was indeed spur of the moment, but still. Being yanked out of my illusion of knowing everything about Bastok really felt like, well, moving. First time a game has done that to me o_O Anyways, without further digression...
-----------------

After arriving in San'doria, Shoe and Reaper met up with Banshee and Sirius, two more LS members. Banshee was extremely nice and led the dazed Shoe around San'doria, telling him shop locations and such. Once the rest of the PT members had organized, we moved out for Ghelsba. We killed quite a few orcs, and got some decent EXP... but eventually the party got taken out by an Orcish Flamelauncher (I think that was the name..). It had almost no HP when the party died, though.

So, as Shoe watched the bodies around him slowly dissappear back to San'doria, he remembered something: he was still saved near Konschtat, because he was smart like that and forgot to save. So, he calmly layed stiff as a board on the ground until his forgiving party could make it back. However, a kind Taru WHM passed by and raised Shoe. His first experience with res sickness, Shoe freaked out at his meager 44 HP. So, he sat and hoped the orcs lining every exit around him wouldn't aggro him.

Of course, they did just that. Shoe died a second time, but some bats came to comfort him this time. Shortly after the bats left, Reaper arrived with a white mage, who resed him for the second time today. Eventually, the sickness wore off, and the duo ran back to San'doria, where Shoe made a point to save right away.

And that, my friends, is where Shoe has left off. He is almost level 12 now, but as the school year starts picking up, his FFXI time starts going down. Even as he types, he's putting off 20 math problems and 6 in-depth questions for his history class. Thus, Shoe bids you adieu, until next time!

Well, it's been awhile since I updated, so I think I'll drop by to fill everyone in on Shoe's uber noob journal.

A lot of things have happened, and by a lot, I mean nothing. You'd think going from level 12 to 23 would invovle at least a little bit of interesting stuff, but it doesn't.

First up, is the excruciating pain that exists in leveling from 10-15. It's slow and boring, and you'll be glad once it's over since exp is easy after that. Second, is the subjob quest. If you're an importer, you most likely have some high level linkshell friends, so they come bash stuff for insane damage until you get the items. But that's only if you didn't get the sub items from the huge amount of monsters you killed during your stay in Valk. Up next, the chocobo quest. This is the chocobo quest. 6 hours of staring at nothing but this.

But 6 hours of staring at walls and chocobo bums doesn't go unrewarded, the chocobos are incredibly fast compared to walking.

Also, sometime around now, you'll want to do the rank 3 quest, which is suprisingly easy... especially since high level LS members helped me and the other rank 2s out.

Group shot of the LS before heading to the dragon.

Anddddd... that's about it. I'm pretty much beating a dead horse here, but hey, I'm having fun To make up for the extremely-overdone shots, here's some random funky stuff I've found through my adventures in Vana'diel.

Apparently, American bands/stars are pretty well know in Japan.. I've seen quite a few band names, but this one...

Oh yeah, almost forgot.. origin of the name Shoe. In another MMO I played, Shuketsu was the name of my main character. Not knowing japanese at the time, I had no idea what it meant.. so I looked it up and found out it meant "bleeding". Fearing an onslaught of w's everytime someone looked at my name, I tried to think of a different name. Eventually, I landed on Shoe because of what a friend called me in the said MMO- ShoeKettle. So there you have it, the boring story of how I got my name. If you actually read all that, feel free to take back your seconds. However, here's a reward for your efforts: Lion mock-fondling herself. (I'm a horrible, horrible person... I've stooped to fanservice to get ratings )
