I recently ran across a pixie in East Saru (no idea what it was doing there) and obtained a "Pinch of Stygian Ash" upon killing it. Seeing as how I'm a long way from being a high enough level to use it, and it can't be sold to NPC's or auctioned, I'm putting it up for sale in my bazaar. Does anyone know how much I should ask for it?

I'd go to Rolanberry and check bazaar's for it, but honestly I've never heard of anyone actively buying this.

10k probably, but expect it to sit in your bazaar for a while, since most shells farm it themselves when they need it.

It also depends on your server for the price. So do as CN said and check bazaars for prices. I know right before I left my server it was going for 30k. Our ls members were constantly looking to purchase it too, no one wanted to farm it. We'd have an assload of rngs but only 1 or 2 would have ash. We'd always have certain people that would always have it giving it out to rngs or we'd have rngs going around checking bazaars right before the pony was supposed to pop. Don't want to do the farming but want all the shinies....

Beat me to it... at least farm them in the past where they're commonplace. I h8 people like you who hunt them in the present (and in general, but yeah it's needed for Ixion...)

I wasn't farming or hunting them. I simply ran across it in the present (which I made clear in my first post), saw it marked as EM, and killed it for XP as well as whatever it dropped.

What's your problem, anyway?

Killing Pixies give you pixie hate. And they don't heal you or raise you when you die.

Pixies are one of the actual useful mobs int he game that will heal you if you need help. Thyve saved my ass so many times after a campaign has ended and no one would raise me, or prevented me from dying when I ran out of tp with /dnc.

Also... Pixies in the present are VERY rare to see. Infact... I've never seen one int eh present. So... Since you killed a pixie, they will NOT heal or raise you unless you do the quest. But good luck on getting a bottle pixie.

That's not completely true.

I killed at least ten pixies and never reset my pixie hate, and they'd still cure and raise me. It takes more than one for pixies to be totally pissed enough that they start ignoring you completely.

Still, in the present, they are pretty rare so I can see why people would be upset if you killed one there.

Just an FYI. Most people love pixies and would gladly MPK anyone who so much as looked at a pixie crosseyed, so you're going to get a ton of flak for killing one.

Seriously, I'm not kidding here. I've seen entire campaign zones turn against pixie killers.

That being said, check bazaars, and increase the price by a hefty amount. No one likes killing the pixies but everyone wants to fight Ixion for a multi million cloak and other things.

My stance would be, "You want ash? You pay shiney clink-clink!"
