Day: Earthsday
Weather Condition: Ice x1
Moon Phase: New Moon 7%
JAs used: Call Beast
Result: +2 Ice, +3 Earth.

Yeah, expensive item I threw at it, but I had no plans to sell it anyway. The Augments aren't too impressive, but they are consistent with the weather conditions and day of the week.

Gonna throw Kitten's HQ bows (Levels 30, 40, 50) at this next, as I just keep those for capped events anyway.

Weather Condition: None
Moon Phase: New Moon 5%
JAs used: Berzerk, Warcry, Sharpshot, Barrage
Result: +4 Fire, +2 Wind.

Not floored by the results, but all I'm losing here are tabs and I wasn't going to sell the bow, either. Weather theory didn't hold up, as the day wasn't reflected at all.

Two LS mates went to Behemoth's Dominion and got shit for results;


Sword Belt +1 got STR -1 VIT -1 AGI +1

Virve Ring +1 got same adjustments. So as it stands no one I know wants to do these anymore until either more(concrete) info is available and/or SE fixes this BS. Seriously wtf @ negative stats. There's a picture of a PCC with +6 STR over at BG but I'm thinking photoshop >_>

Went to Buburimu and traded a Balance Ring. Balance Ring got +3 lightning added to it. Didn't record date data and such, but it was a 98% Full Moon.

This whole portion of the update is just horrible. Now I realize it hasn't been out for very long, but come on. Like 95% of all of the modifications people have gotten are total crap. I am sooo disappointed. I'm not asking for game breaking stats. I'd settle for reasonable/low key results. Unfortunately they went below the line with this.

Thing is, the NMs are such a joke that I don't know if they should be giving up crazy stats.

I do think we could get something better than elemental resistance stats, though.

I don't make this thread to hear the complaints again, though, I made it to hear findings others have had. If I wanted to hear whining about this, I could just look at the Discussion pages in FFXIclopedia again.

I think the main problem is the negative shit.

How is a negative equal to an augment? More like a detriment. Stupid! I wouldn't care if I got a bunch of silly and not especially useful PLUS stats, but MINUS? That's fucking gay. Only minus I want is enmity.

The two I've done so far are:

Nomad's Mantle
NM in Jugner Forest
Got Fire Resist +3

and

Red Cape
NM in Xarcabard
MP +4, CHR +1

Neither are terrible but neither are great.

I really don't mind the system at all. However, I do hope eventually there'll be some pattern to the possible augments. I don't mind a random system as long as I at least have a vague idea of what I could get by doing such and such NM.

Also, anything that has the potential to throw in a decent amount of elemental resistance on gear that's already good is cool in my book.

Has anyone tried the NM's at or around the same level as the NM's ?? I could see SE nerfing the Augment stats, if your lvl75 ass kicker is just rolling around trying to gather nice gear. What about a lvl 50ish monk vs. some of the lvl 50 NM's?

The fights kind of were lol worthy to 75s. The Xarcabard NM went down in a few hits, so much so that it was actually a waste of my pet jugs. Thankfully I had only called Carrie. There could be something to level syncing down to something more appropriate, but that begs the question of why not just level cap the fights?

Maybe the trick lies in fighting them when your job level matches the NM or something stupid like that? Who knows.

I just don't understand why the hell didn't come up with a series of Alchemy-made items (along with a new key-item) that bestows various augments when traded to a new NPC along with some gil as a transaction fee.

Now, the only really caveat to this would be the inevitable price gouging but it seems like a fair enough system IMO that would allow us to pick the damn augments. The best way would be to have a general list of augments with the strength varying according to the equipment type and level required.

They could also save the best stuff (like Double Attack, Haste, etc) for BC drops, leaving alchemists with basic mods being craftable.

I have 3 items I augmented:

Sandy Bandanna: Fought NM in Valkurm Dunes with my 28 NIN/DNC and got Resist Poison +1
Vagabond Gloves: Fought NM in West Ronf with my NIN/DNC and got +4 Ice resist
Spike Necklace: NM in Behemoth's Dominion with 75 DRG/BLU and got +4 wind

The Behemoth NM spawned with 6 shadows and triple attack.
