Agreed, though Witch Sash on it's own is pretty much the best thing in that slot. Go fig, Ramuh actually has access to Splitting Heirs this week, but only 1-2 people I know have high enough rank to access the Op, and they would want to sell the sash if we got it, while I need it to use.

People on Odin are still trying to sell Witch Sash for 4 mil or more.

Given how good Penitent's Rope still is by contrast, and that there's even a free alternative to that, I don't think its going to sell for that much to anyone that's actually sane.

Gonna go for that earring for my DNC, though. And since I have two characters, I can then spam for profit.

Ifrit got Cracking Shells this week. Airy Buckler and Crapaud Earing, plus Balastarius, the 2 grips and other crap.

Interestingly enough, that just leaves Dorje, Shenlong's Baghnakhs, Nanatsusaya and Hachiryu Haramaki to drop from Pandemonium Warden (maybe other crafting mats, drops relating to the various forms, god I hope so)

Well, we made a valiant effort at Plucking Wings saturday, but I think we lacked the right setup and strategy for the win.

We had SMN x2, BLM, SCH, PLD and SAM. Ascended's buddies are pretty weak, but still quite a bit to deal with. Also, there were no details about Ascended on the Wiki. He's not a BLM, but a SCH and like all SCH NMs, he's a total cheating bastard. I was suspicious when they mentioned he could AoE Tier IVs, but didn't say whether or not he was BLM.

We barely won a 4-man Splitting Heirs before server reset(we only got to try 2 runs and lost the 2nd), and I was able to get a Wise Strap from it. I haven't gotten a large enough sample size to say for sure, but in the 80ish QDs I tried with it I have yet to see a magic crit proc, so I'm leaning towards it not working on QD.

Did either of you try the wiki strategy of pulling the boss right to the zone? If you're right at it the helpers will still respawn but will just barely be out of linking range so you can effectively fight the boss alone.

Yes, that's how we did it, it doesn't change the fact that the boss hits like an absolute truck, has a mega Haste TP move which you can't Dispel or overwrite with Slow II, has that retardedly overpowered Orcish Counterstance move, possibly has a fair amount of Regain, and Tornado Edge is a front conal move.

One of our wipes on the 2nd round that we lost came because when we pulled the orcs, as they were coming down the tight hallway to the entrance the boss stopped before reaching the tank and just unloaded Tornado Edge down the hallway we were all crammed into, 1-shotting two of the four members.

It's possible with 4(like I said we won the first round), but it's no joke of a fight. The helpers go down quickly but still hit hard, while the boss has high defense, high HP, and is just an offensive beast. Should be easily handled with a full party assuming you have some extra support.

What is this free alternative to Penitent's Rope? As I was looking at making the gil for either Penitent's Rope or Forest Rope but they are both out of my price range at the moment.

That actually makes me wonder if it's possible to Quick Draw Slow II and bump it up another tier. If a Haste with that much priority exists, then maybe there's a higher Slow tier too.

It might not neccesarily be a higher tier so much as simply an effect you can't Dispel, similar to Reactor Cool spikes. It's a potent Haste for sure though, 15% minimum I'd venture.
