If you go farm the Girtabs in Toraimarai Canal, they always drop two claws and a shell, guaranteed. There's only two pops, one by the blm AF hat NM at J-8 and another by the Full Moon Fountain at F-9, but with a drop rate like that it doesn't take very long to have your inventory overflowing with scorpion parts. Those are also the mobs that drop Viking Axe, so you've got a chance of making a little extra cash while you're at it. At a guess I'd say the drop rate on the axe is 1/10. I've actually found the scorpions that that pop near the first door in Rangumont Pass commonly drop claws, as well as the ones in Maze of Shakrami. That altepa ones have a pretty terrible droprate, probably because there are so many spread out in that zone. Girtabs seem a bit higher-tier than the ones I mentioned, but you could get some friends to help farm them, just call it a skill-up PT  |
