Dangruf Wadi and Gausebit Grass

I saw a thread that was made a few months ago about where to farm for Gausebit grass. A few of the posters suggested farming for it in Dangruf Wadi by killing Wadi Hares. I went there last night and maybe I'm thick or something but I couldn't find one "Wadi Hare" I did find a hare type monster called (I think) "Hoarder Hare". I killed about 10 of them and not even one Gausebit Grass dropped. Am I not deep enough in Dangruf? Is there in fact a vermin type called "Wadi Hare"? Or is the drop just really rare? Thanks for any help.

Wadi Hare does indeed exist, though its exact location I don't know off the top of my head.

Re: Dangruf Wadi and Gausebit Grass

Wadi Hares specifically are what you want.

You'll have to ride the geysers up to the higher parts of the zone to get to them. They are the little red spots in H-9 and I-8. I'm pretty sure they're all over the place up there. Just hit up one of the larger open areas and you'll see some. Whatever you do, don't go down the darkened tunnels at your level or gobs will eat your butt.

Re: Dangruf Wadi and Gausebit Grass

You can find Wadi Hares in the areas after the geyser lift. They also spawn Geyser Lizard so you could get a Mail while you are farming them.

H-3, E-7 and E-8ish are the locations where GL and Wadi Hares spawn.

Good Luck.

Don't forget to laugh at how rediculous you'll look floating stiffly up the geyser like a dummy from a 3 Stooges short.

They need to add a damn slide whistle sound effect to it. Beee-ooooh---whop!

Re: Dangruf Wadi and Gausebit Grass

Depending on your level, forget Dangruf Wadi and the Wadi Hares.
If you're after Gausebit Grass, go to Meriphtaud Mountains and kill the Crane Fly mobs (Lv. 18-21). Their droprate on Gausebit grass is much better than Wadi Hares.

If you're asking because you need the grass for the Chocobo Pass, you're likely level 20 and going to see them as Decent Challenge - Even match, maybe a Tough here and there. Seek help for the Flies if they prove too tough.

How do I get to those mountains? I've never even really heard of them. I do have a level 36 SAM I can take there.

Re: Dangruf Wadi and Gausebit Grass

As someone who solo'd the wadi hares as a BLM- just buy gausebit grass, there should be plenty of it for sale. It's not worth the hassle.

If you must, i'd highly recommend against the above post saying to look for Geyser lizard, that thing kicked me as a lv30+ somejob, it would kill a lv20 very quickly.

Please look things up on ffxiclopedia and vana'diel atlas before you ask questions like that. If you don't know them, use google.

I definitely respect what you are saying, but I'm at work, so I was looking for the answer before I get home. I can't access those websites. I will take a look when I get home, but it's usually easier asking somebody who may have additional advice. Using the example you gave above, you know that a level 20 can't handle that Lizzard, so in that same way maybe someone who knows how to get to The Mountains I need to go to will warn me of some other such thing. An Atlas certainly won't do that.

Re: Dangruf Wadi and Gausebit Grass

You can handle the mobs in Meriphitaud. It's the zone between Tahrongi Canyon and Sauromugue Champaign.

But Dangruf Wadi should be fine.
