Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

Has anyone here ever camped the nm for these drops. Aiatar is the dragon that drops them. It drops Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses. Normally this isn't a problem, but when I checked FFXIAH.com I found something strange. The hose have never sold on Odin, and have only sold on 4 servers iirc. The drk piece has sold only once on our ah. That too has only been sold on a handful of servers. Anyone know why? Is the nm that hard to fight?

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

It's probably not so much that it's hard, just that it pops in an area that a) requires a pretty decent amount of CoP missions to be able to access and b) is capped at level 40. So compared to most NMs there aren't a lot of people that can camp it or that want to go to the trouble of pulling their level cap gear out of storage (or buy some new) to go do so.

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

Id imagine its possibly very hard to fight as its in a capped area on Wyvern mobs. The placeholders are hard enough to kill with 6 ppl so finding a group big enough to defeat the NM will probably be very hard. Most people that have them probably got help from linkshell for them and wont sell.

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

Not to mention those pieces of gear seem kinda (Too weak) for the trouble.

Unless the Enhances Souleater effect is really good and the DRG piece has some sort of hidden effect.

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

For drks there are only 2 things at level 50 that will enhance soul eater. One is the cuisses and one is the Gloom Breastplate. Breastplate is easier to get since its a little lower on the mission side. I have read though, that the pieces that enhance souleater do not stack. I am not sure about that.

I would like the hose for my drg. Nobody else seems to have them and although it won't be much, the +30 hp will help slightly with healing breaths before level 52. I like getting different items that not a lot of ppl have. Fighting NM and getting worthless crap is what I enjoy most in this game. I can get a group of almost 18 up there for the flys, just want to know what to expect from the Aiatar fight.

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

18 ppl will be able to kill it np. Hardest part is getting the 18 ppl and you have already done that. Not sure about this "Lottery spawn" tho, could take hours.

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

With it being Riverne, and not many people ever camping Aiatar, it shouldn't take too long to pop. He may even be up when you get there. Coincedentally, if you look at the Alla page for Aiatar, I'm in the pic. >.>

A thief in our ls at the time gave some advice:
Quote:
That being said, we had to clear the area first because there are Flamedrakes all over the place. After engaging the first Flamedrake in an isolated area, Aiatar just wanted directly over to us and linked. I don't know if he's programmed to link with any Flamedrake in the area which is engaged, or if we just got unlucky but it seemed very suspicious considering how far away he was when we attacked the Flamedrake.

Because of this add, we almost did not beat Aiatar. Most of our major DD died. If you could safely engage him with a fully rested group and not get any links at all, I imagine 8 is sufficient.
That was back in 2005 and there were exactly 3 posts since then. lol So if anything you won't have any competition.

Re: Falconer's Hose and Sable Cuisses

no one likes going into capped areas unless they really have to.
it means playing w/o your usual abilties and equip, muling/purchasing lv. 40 equips and running out to a01 entrance ><

i hate running there... gargh!
