Wizard's Mantle

I was looking for a Wizard's Mantle on the AH today, and couldn't find it listed. Is it rare/ex? None of the other lvl 30 latent effect mantles are rare/ex, and all the informational sites I visited (somepage, ffxiclopedia, etc) say that it is simply rare, and should be found on the AH under Armor > Back. I really wanted this item for my WHM and/or RDM, but does it even exist? It supposedly drops from a couple BCNMs, but I don't want to do the fights thinking I might get it if it turns out I have no chance of that drop, ever.

You can definitely buy it from AH. It's going to 4M on Titan.

Latent effect only works if you use Rdm as sub job. Soloing Blm/Rdm gets full benefit from it. But if you're a main Whm or Rdm, this thing is useless.

Its /BLM Sub that activates it. The /RDM Sub cape is the Warlock's Mantle

Warlock's is going for 4M on Fairy too, but what about Wizard's? I did a little research on ffxiah.com, and it looks like only ten servers have ever even seen this item on the AH, so it must just be extremely rare. I find it strange that I can't even locate its listing on Fairy's AH in game, though. If an item has never been sold, does it not appear on the AH?

And yes, I wanted to use it for subbing BLM.

I'm pretty sure an item does not show up on the AH until it is listed by someone.

Correct. Items appear on the AH after any player puts them up for sale. They don't have to actually sell - the entry will stay on the AH permanently, with no history until a successful sale is made.

Your best bet in these cases is try to gather people for the BC fight, both Dropping like Flies and Let the Sleeping Dogs Lie are BCNM 30 so it isn't too difficult to give em a try.

I've only fought Flies but the fight isn't too difficult with the right party set up.
