Copper Bullets: A Slap in the face to both RNG and COR

Another triumphant addition to the catalog of useless items provided by Square-Enix, presenting, the Copper Bullet:

Level: 15
Slot: Ammo
Type: Ammo: Bullet
Jobs: RNG
Races: All
Damage: 10
Delay: 240
Damage Per Second (DPS): 2.5
TP Per Hit: 6.4%
Stackable: 99

As you can see, it is superior to the Bronze Bullet. However, this bullet does not even get the base damage of the gun above that of the crossbow at the same level (not even taking into account the delay difference). Therefore, Rangers will still not use them. Then one thinks, COR could really use a little pick me up in his damage, but unfortunately not... COR cannot use them. What are they for? Apparently, for Rangers who are more concerned with looks than damage or skilling up quickly which is an obvious niche market. I had to make a stack to confirm that Somepage was indeed correct with the listed statistics. They are. Copper Bullets are exactly as advertised above. Get yours now, I've got 33! Copper Bullets are in line to replace the Pebble as everyones favorite collectors item! Have you hopped on the Copper Bullet Bandwagon yet?

That really does kind of suck. :/ I mean, considering COR can only use bullets, it would have been nice to give them some more options, but I guess SE doesn't agree. ><;

Re: Copper Bullets: A Slap in the face to both RNG and COR

I think over time, though, we've seen SE has done a really good job of balancing the jobs, and what jobs use what items/equip. Give it time, and COR will have a wide array of good items, I have no doubt.

But, you're right, Sabaron, that doesn't mitigate the fact that adding this, at this time, in this way, is just plain silly.

heh yea low level bullets are pretty sad. they also need to add some new bolts. there's nothing new after 50.

Re: Copper Bullets: A Slap in the face to both RNG and COR

One thing I got to ask though, that is what the description says but has a COR tried equiping 1 to see if the description is right?

I say this because around Christmas time in 2003 some BSTs players noticed that they can equip shields even though they were not part of the descriptions list of jobs that can use it. SE confirmed that BSTs equipping it wasn't a mistake, they just hadn't updated the description because "They didn't expect the gamers to level that fast".

So the potential for the description to not be accurate is there, so better to have a field test then always trust the descriptive info.

Re: Copper Bullets: A Slap in the face to both RNG and COR

I guess there isn't new methods to develop bullets, same chemical composition as it should be over the years for gunpowder. Granted you can stack them to 99, oddly enough I don't think a real life gun, even most semi-automatics can stack to 99 bullets, (I think it's up to 60 unless you have a really huge banana clip or a machine gun)

And obviously we don't shoot bullets like crazy, so there's another side benefit of not being such a crazy gil sink.
