Can't bid on something that last sold for 6000... but can bid on a 12000 item...

For some reason I have the ability to bid on a scroll of drain for 12,000 but I can't bid on a scroll of warp which last sold for 6800.

Why is this?

It is also occuring with the scentless armlets that I want to bid on as well... how come I can't bid on items sometimes like that?

Glitch or what?

Because the item might be out of stock, the number next to the item signifies how many are in stock or are up for sale.

For example:

Scentless Armlets [5]
Bronze Sword
Warp [1]

The [x] shows how many are in stock, in this case the armlets have 5 in stock, while the sword has none(and therefore you cannot bid on nothing thats there), and the scroll of Warp has only 1 in stock.

Well, that sucks that I can't bid on warp, or drain. Is there a quest for either of these?

I'm in Windurst.

the quest for warp is in bastok and the quest for drain is in sandoria...

you will probably have to build up fame in the respective nations before you can get the quest.

Yes there are quests for these but they require fame.

Fame: How many quests done, the more you do the more fame you get. There are fame seperated for each nation, so theres Bastok, Sandoria, Windurst, Jeuno, and Norg. The more quests you do in that nation, the more fame you get for that area. There ARE exceptions, but thats the general idea. So if an NPC does not give you a quest even though they should, that means you lack fame, do more quests and try again.

When you get the warp quest, you can buy slime oil from the ah for about 1-2k (depending on server) so is quite easy.
