keep them. there is a quest in norg which requires you to trade in 10 rusty leggings and 10 rusty subligars to get 2 ninjutsu scrolls. these scrolls are round (iirc) 20-50k each (on my server).

hm, I have both of those quests triggered, I should fish those babies up. what rod/bait are you using?

I'm using a carbon rod and insect ball. I fish at no specific time or day in the Bastok Markets area by the bridge that connects it to Bastok Mines.

you don't need anything in particular to catch rusty items. it's one of the random results you can get while fishing normally. however, if you want to increase your chances of catching items, furnish your MH with Fishing moghancement items.
