Hey, don't know if this has been covered yet but what programs did you use to edit the videos and add the effects in? Amazing man, hope to see more by you.

I didn't like it...I know I know...That makes me wholey unpopular...But...

I felt the Pings Run Away video was better.

Atrus' video gave me a headache. I couldn't understand the song, and the "effects" were overdone. I don't think there was a moment in the whole video that was just normal footage. What I liked about Pings was that without the special effects it was awesome because of all of the visuals that were PERFECTLY in time with the song. The dust, wave, running away, pointing, question, all that was blended perfectly.

Overall the whole thing played more like the opening to an anime series than a music video.

Atrus 3/10
Ping 9/10

Vegas Video, there is a link in one of my previous posts that has more information about it.

@Devryn

Thanks for being honest and I understand what you mean. Especially in segments such as the boat scene where it got a little messy. That whole scene involved me croping the game running in 800x600 resolution w/ a full message bar and full alliance on the right side of the screen. Not much room to do much editing except to layer it and hope it works out :dead:

When making this video my goal was to show something different from what you see day after day in Vana'Diel. I wanted it to be unique and show off a different perspective of the game. The effects used were there to help unify the whole project (that and slight FLCL type theme :spin: ). To me showing just strait footage seemed kind of boring and felt like I was just playing the game with some music running in the background. There was also a technical limitation to some of it (i.e. I don't have a great capture card and the orignal footage looked like crap!)

Sorry you didn't like it

P.S.

I'll take that as a complement.

Thanks for understanding. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with the opening theme from an anime. .hack//SIGNS was awesome. Yours was good, just not my favorite.

If it makes you feel any better I think highly of you. #1 You definatly have a talent that I don't #2 You can take constructive critisism and that's AWESOME.

Well, in my honest opinion, there was no constructive critisism in that post, just reasons why PiNG's video was better. To me, and maybe to everyone, constructive critisism contains possibilities for improvement that can be recommended to the artist/photographer etc. Of course, disregard everything I said if you feel as though PiNG's video in general is a major possibility for improvement.

As for a description of the story behind the video. It contains screen shots of events planned between the videos major characters. There is a personal meaning behind everything. Valere and Atrus (Valere being my first character, Atrus being Celestial Hero) met eachother the first day I got the game. Valere then became Vivid (my current character) and we went about our journies. Screens of Atrus's journey take place throughout the video up until his departure from FFXI. It then takes my character, Vivid, back to San d'Oria port, the area where Valere and Atrus first met.

Hehe, hope that helped to explain things^^

I'm sure your in the background somewhere if you look really hard! And I know you were sending me a tell during the taping of some of those scenes, so at least you were there in heart.

Honestly, I didn't get everyone in I wanted to. Didn't have any past videos of you Cel, sorry

Way to much spezial effekts. The scenes are to short, blendgin between the scenes to fast. While i liked the black and white from time to time in most of the szenes where to much blur and snow. I think one szene was mission 11? But you jumped in and out and the skeleton was only visible for a millisecond. If i see a video i want to see some content in a good mix to the music with some good spezial effekts.

While i liekd the music the video itself is nothing for me, I realy had to concentrate on the film to get the content of the clips.

Personaly I liked the one from Alger
Not lvling cook past lvl 50, what gives?

A lot more. Its not that overloaded, and shows game content in mid long snips in a very good cutting to the music.

But nevertheless, im very curious about your next video! So please take it as constructive critisism. Lesser spezial effekts, more game content (cool fight snips), a bit longer snips. The eye need some time to get the information.

You want it simpler and I can understand that. It wasn't about the battle, it wasn't about watching any cool cut scenes. It was about the editing. Look at it for what it was, not what you want it to be.

Thank your for your opinion
