Forum Server Being Overloaded...

Are people have trouble with the forum "server busy" messages? I'm wondering how many people get that while visiting the forum. Is it so bad that perhaps it's time to move to a better/faster/more relible server? Vote please...

That happened to me last night and I was so pissed off. :mad: I was like WTF!!! I have a cable modem and should be able to get in... I wish it would stop this.

Yeah I was meaning to ask you about that, it's really annoying sometimes espcially when I click a thread to read something and it stops me...

yeah i agree with saken,and D it took me like around 20 minutes to get back up in the forums, it kept on overloading soo badly , or atleast i felt it that way,

could online connections be the problem? because in DSL i well atleast think it was way better, smoother and all, and in 56kbp modem ( :sweat: ) its like slow and it kept on overloading faster atleast..meaby its just me, but it really isnt that is it?

I'm thinking weather i should move to a dedicated server. Currently the server is being shared by other users and on depending on the load of the server, the forum resricts connections... The thing is i can try to over-over load the server by getting rid of the forum load restriction and just force the server to disconnect users when it's in "emergency" state, in other words: either, "Server is busy please try again later" message from the forum software or "Error in server database, too many users connected to database" from the SERVER it self.

I will get rid of the restriction for about 3 days and test the stability... But doubt it'll help much.

Any how if i decide to go dedicated server hosting for the website, the price per month will rocket to $300 per month, of course it'll have mass storage and other options for me to take advantage of. But I highly doubt the site is yet 'ready' to move to a better server yet.

Hmm... could a computer be the dedicated server? If so mine can... I don't use mine THAT much... but I'll do it to keep the forums up cause these forums are awsome.

If it can i would do it too but i would just need to atleast leave 10 gb of free space for when FFXI comes out

lol, the current server is on a OC12 connection and is having problems. Unless you have OC48 Connection or above, your not really offering me anything. :sweat: :sweat:

T-1 - 1.544 megabits per second (24 DS0 lines) Ave. cost $1,200./mo.

T-3 - 43.232 megabits per second (28 T1s) Ave. cost $28,000./mo.

OC-3 - 155 megabits per second (100 T1s) Ave. cost $49,000./mo.

OC-12 - 622 megabits per second (4 OC3s) no est. price available Current server connection

OC-48 - 2.5 gigabits per seconds (4 OC12s) no est. price available

OC-192 - 9.6 gigabits per second (4 OC48s) no est. price available
